Part 38 (Woodbury)

Start from the beginning

"Okay! Okay, we will. But we can't right now."

"NOW!"

"Shut him up," Michonne whispered.

"Get out!"

"There are walkers outside," Rick hissed.

Daryl walked around the table in the middle of the room to stand beside CJ, who had both of her knives raised, ready for if the man attacked. The man looked around at everyone. A mixture of fear and confusion on his face. Clearly he had lost it a while ago.

"I'll call the cops!"

"I am a cop," Rick shot back. "Now, I need you to lower the gun. Don't do anything rash. Let's just take this nice and slow. Okay?" he whispered, putting his own weapons and flashlight on the ground "Hey, hey. Look at me."

The man suddenly raised his gun again, pointing it right in Rick's face. "Show me your badge!"

"It's in my pocket. It's in my pocket," Rick nodded. "I'm just gonna reach down, nice and slow."

Rick took the opportunity to grab the barrel of the man's gun. The gun went off and CJ grabbed Daryl's arm to pull him out of the way before the bullet could hit him.

Rick struggled with the man and ended up holding him in a headlock whilst the man protested. When Rick wouldn't let him go, the man bit his hand and Rick released him as he grunted in pain.

The man made a run for the door. "Help! Someone help me!"

"Do not open that door!" Rick yelled.

Before the man could unlock the door, Michonne realised there was no other option. She took out her sword and impaled the man through his back to his chest, killing him instantly.

Daryl rushed over to the window and peered through the wooden planks that were blocking the glass. "Remember the Alamo?"

"Daryl, CJ, help me with the door." Rick grabbed the strangers arm and started lifting him off the ground as Daryl came over to help. CJ stood opposite Michonne by the door, preparing to open it.

"You gotta be kiddin' me," Oscar grimaced.

"He's dead," Rick deadpanned. "Check the back."

Oscar went over to the other door and slowly opened it and peeked through the gap. "It's clear."

"Alright," Rick and Daryl steadied themselves as they lifted the dead man up. "One, two, three."

On three, Michonne opened the door and they threw the man's body to the walkers. Once it was clear again, they shut the door and CJ locked it before following the rest of the group out the back, taking the opportunity to make a run past the walkers now that they were distracted.

I was dark by the time they reached Woodbury. Michonne led the others to a hiding spot behind an old car. Peering over, CJ observed a number of men standing guard on top of a high wall, all of them holding guns. Michonne was right, this place was secure. Without saying anything, Michonne stood up and ran off into the trees again.

"Hey. Hey, Michonne!" CJ whispered after her loudly. "Dammit."

"Alright, we need to downsize," Rick said as he started to take off some of his bags, the others following suit. CJ shuffled her weapons so she had her rifle around her shoulder and her bow across her body. If a fight were to break out, the gun would be easier to use.

"Ain't no way we're gonna check in all them buildings," Daryl shook his head. "Not with all them guards there."

From behind them came a shuffling sound. The group all immediately turned and raised their weapons, only to see Michonne gesturing for them to follow her. Checking it was empty as they slowly entered with their guns raised.
