Chapter 8 - Bump in the Road

 Kurt closed the door and sat down “heh” I can tell he's going to be a great trainer one day

Now when Tommy when to Bugsy he thought he would be challenging, difficult, all around very hard

But he's a big type specialist and Ares wiped the floor of all his Pokémon which made him very disappointing like Scyther looked really cool, but he was weak

Not to mention, he also only had a Kakuna and Metapod

But overall, he was easy as he thanked Bugsy for the badge and left the Gym now already going to the next Route only to be stopped by him

Larry

“. . . Hey tell me something” Larry said, his face with confusion and hope? “Is it true Team Rocket has returned?” Larry said, "Yeah uhh I defeated their grunts not too long ago well actually yesterday I mean” Tommy said already feeling like a battle is starting.

“What? You beat them? Hah! Quit lying” Larry said pulling out a Poke Ball “Are you Serious? Then I guess I have to see how good you are” Larry said as he threw his Poke Ball out.

“Go! Gastly!” Larry yells out throwing his Pokémon showing a ball with smoke with a comically big eyes and mouth.

Tommy thought whom to send out he knows Ghost types aren't affected by normal and fighting type attacks so that rules out Soteria and Ares is pretty tired after Bugsy but Crowza was a big maybe picture Mars was pretty new he wanted to avoid sending him head first to a battle

Okay, how come all his Pokémon are dudes second Crowza seems to have Peck, so he can do damage 

“GO! CROWZA!” Tommy said as he threw his Poke Ball out, letting his Rookidee out.

“Use Peck!” Tommy commanded as Crowza out speed the ball of gas. 

It was a direct hit on the eye leaving the ghastly to faint early Larry had a pissed expression as he grabbed another Poke Ball

“GO!CROCONAW!” Larry said sending out a huge blue crocodile, I guess his totodile evolved Tommy thought.

“Return Crowza!” Tommy said as the Red energy beam made Crowza go back inside the Poke Ball “Go! Ares!” Tommy said as Ares ran to the field.

“USE!” Both trainers yelled “BITE!”"TACKLE” Both of they yelled out different moves, but their Pokémon rushed in already locked in Combat.

Both trainers stood silent, not giving any commands as if their Pokémon already knew the commands they were going to say

Flame Charge, Bite,Tackle, Growl,Leer, Bubble a repeat of moves in their Psyche repeats until Croconaw went down while Ares could barely stand 

While Larry was at his final “Go! Zubat!” Larry yelled out weakly as a Zubat came out.

“Ares! Return!” Tommy said as Ares walked back to him and returned to the Poke Ball in his own will, Tommy grabbed his Poke balls to choose his next member to use for battle.

As he chose he noticed the moon glowing brightly as it was full, he knew whom to use “Go! Soteria!” Tommy yelled with determination as Soteria came out ready for action. 

As Soteria came out of his Poke Ball his white fur sparkled along with the Moon

“Soteria! Use Tackle on Zubat” Tommy said as Soteria ran headfirst to Zubat missing by Zubat flying higher.

“Use Confuse Ray” Larry commanded as followed Zubat used a small light and hit Soteria making him confused

“Soteria use Growl” Tommy commanded but Soteria just walked a little and hit his head on the floor hurting himself

Larry laughed while Tommy was worried was this going to be my first loss he thought until Soteria started to growl and yell straight toward the moon

Both Tommy and Larry got confused until a blue light envelope Soteria as he still howled at the moon, Tommy looked up and saw that the moon was glowing brightly

As Tommy saw Soteria he changes his white fur changed into black fur with Blue Rings on his tail and ears and one on his head

[Congratulations, you Soteria evolved into an Umbreon]

Tommy smirk showing his teeth, he got confident that he and Soteria got this “Use! Pursuit!” Tommy yelled as Soteria did that and won by one hit!

“Hey, no fair you only won because your Pokémon Evolved mid-battle!” Larry yelled while leaving, Tommy just let out a huff while going to pet Soteria

“Thanks mate, I didn't know what to do without you” Tommy said as Soteria return to his Poke Ball Tommy look up and saw how late it is guess I should go to bed in the Poke center here I guess
