Untold pain 2

Mr  Medthanan stood in front of the door for two seconds and hesitatingly stretched out his hand to opened the door.

The door opened with a click and Mr Medthanan entered the room.

All the lights in the room were off , A ray of light was entering the room from behind the curtain of the window which lit up the room a little

Arthit was sitting on the ground in a corner of the room near the sofa,He was sitting with his head on both knees with close eyes

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Arthit immediately raised his head with a jerk in fear and looked at the door with yellow face and scared eyes.

"its me, don't be scared, its me" Mr Medthanan spoke quickly and turned on the light in the room

Seeing Mr Medthanan, the expression of fear disappeared from Arthit face, but he did not say anything and started looking at  Mr Medthanan silently

Mr Medthanan closed the door and started taking small steps towards Arthit but stopped to see the food on the table.

The food was on the table just as he had left it

Far from eating, Arthit had not even taken a sip of the water that Mr Medthanan had poured into the glass for him.

Mr Medthanan felt pain in his heart but he could not do anything but remain silent so he ignored the food and moved towards Arthit quietly

Mr Medthanan sat down near to Arthit, there was deep silence in the room.

Mr Medthanan didn't know what to say or how to start conversation , How difficult it seemed to talk to his own son

"So whats up" Mr Medthanan asked with soft gentle smile. Despite the smile on his face, the moisture and pain were clearly visible in his aged eyes.

Both the smile and the pain on the old man's face were making a strange heartbreaking combination

Arthit looked at the helpless smile on Mr Medthanan's face silently but he did not give any answer to Mr Medthanan

"If you need anything,feel free to tell me anytime" Mr Medthanan again tried to start conversation

"Sorry" Arthit looked into Mr Medthanan's eyes and said in a very low voice, almost like a whisper

"Why are you saying 'sorry', You don't need to say 'sorry' we all should ask you for forgiveness" Mr Medthanan looked at Arthit nervously and said confusingly

"Sorry .... for my .... behaviour" Arthit just said this and fell silent and started looking down at his hands which he was rubbing vigorously

Arthit was struggling not to break down

The struggle not to break was clearly visible on Arthit face

He tried hard and managed for few minutes but at last he failed and with painful hiccups, tears began to fall from his eyes

"...hic.... I am in so much pain... hic.... please I want to go"

"I.. hic...can't stay here"

"Please...hic...  don't get me wrong"  With this he fell silent again, and began to try to calm down himself

In the deep silence of the room, the sound of Arthit's fast breathing and light hiccups could be heard clearly

 After crying for a while he roughly wiped his tears and started speaking again

"Please convince.... mom to let me go.... I'm suffocating here" Arthit said while wiping his tears with his elbow

"I have forgiven everyone, I don't want anything from anyone, I just want to go far away from here"

"So far that even the shadow of my past could not reach there"

This time there were no tears or hiccups when he spoke, but there was a terrible pain in his voice

Seeing this condition of his son, Mr Medthanan's heart was bursting with pain, but he was so helpless that he could not do anything to ease his son's pain.

"Just give me some time, I promise I will convince your mom" Mr Medthanan said with moist eyes

"Hmm" Arthit hmmed and shook his head

"Please eat some food , Your medicine is high dose and will make you feel worse"Mr Medthanan said in requesting tone

"I don't have appeti-- " Arthit had not even finished speaking when Mr Medthanan interrupted him

"Please" Mr Medthanan said in breaking voice

"Hmm" Arthit was not hungry at all, but this time he didn't have heart to refuse
