'Waise bhabhi what is thi chun- chunni whatever you said?' Sid asked scratching the back of his head.

'Chunni maane dupatta hogo chirkut.' Sanju replied to Sid's query.

'But bhabhi ne Monu ko dupatta kyu diya kyuki Monu ke pass already bohot saari hai even though she doesn't wear them often. Also what does Karan sir's name have to do with that dupatta?' Sid asked confused.

Everyone else slightly shook their heads and shared a laugh where as Sanju smacked the back of Sid's head, 'Ouch Sanju' he replied while rubbing his head where he had been smacked.

'Kyu maar rahi hai usse Sanju bekar mai koi baat nahi Sid, Barkha bata degi usse iske baare mai tujhe. Kyu Barkha?' Param said turning towards Barkha.

'Yeh bhi koi puchne ki baat hai Param offcourse. Chunni chadana ek pre-wedding ritual hota hai Punjabi's mai and iss rasam me ladke ke side ki aurate Dulhan ko officially family mai accept karte hai. And iss rasam mai Dulhan yaane to be bride ke sir par chunni yaani Bridal dupatta chadaate hai as a symbol of welcoming the new bride in the family and blessings and good luck from the groom's family for the bride and groom's future life. And ussi ke saath koi jewellery dete hai usually gold ke bangals, yaa phir koi set yaa phir family heirloom.' Barkha explained the ritual to Sid.

'Ohh isliye aapne bola ki Karan sir ke naam ki chunni. Coz Monu is gonna be Karan sir's wife.' Sid said finally understanding the chunni chadana ceremony.

'Exactly.' Param said.

Monami was blushing and elated when Sid mentioned her as Karan's soon to be wife. She definitely knew a little about the symbolism of the chunni for a to be bride but now that she knew the whole story behind the chunni chadawa ceremony and she honeslty was just so happy that Karan's family had accepted her so whole heartedly with nothing but utmost love, respect and affection.

'Wait a moment !!!' Sid literally screeched as realisation dawned him. 'Par ye ceremony toh humne dekhi nahi. I missed my best friend's chunni chadana ceremony Monu that's not done bro.' Sid exclaimed sadly.

'Arrey Sid yeh ceremony hui the lekin unofficially. Bhale hi humne mann se aur dil se Monami ko Karan ki biwi maan liya hai lekin saare rasame officially hona baaki hai. I think Barkha ne yeh socha hoga ki iss ladke ke haath se Monami jaise ladki na nikle isliye usse unofficially officially chunni chadawane ki rasam puri kar li.' Param said pacifying Sid.

'Haa Sid Param ne sahi kaha, yeh toh bas unofficially hum 3 logo ke beech hua tha. Jaldi hi inke roke ki yaane engagement ki date fix karenge aur yeh rasam bhi kar lenge tab. Ab toh khush Sid?' Barkha said while explaining to Sid.

'Yes bhabhi' Sid replied and went off too Monu and hugged her who returned the hug back. He backed off and kissed her forehead and said, 'Ehh Moti Billi I'm so excited for your first pre-wedding ritual.' Monami blushed at Sid's statement she was gonna be Karan's soon to be wife soon officially. Karan just smiled looking at the duo. But somewhere he realised butterflies had started fluttering in his stomach when Sid had called Monami Karan sir's to be wife. 'Dr. Monami Karan Shergill' definitely had a nice ring to it Karan thought.

KOEL AND SUMANJI'S ROOM

'Guys humne yeh toh final kar liya hai ki hum Karan sir aur Param sir ke liye party organize kar rahe hai lekin ek problem hai.' Koel said.

'Kya problem hai Koel, Sumanji puch rahi hai.'

'Problem yeh hai ki Karan sir se hum permission maang nahi sakte coz obviously party hum unke liye aur Param sir ke liye rakh rahe hai.' Koel said 'Aur agar Karan sir ko galti se bhi patah chal gaya ki humne yeh party without any permission plan ki hai toh..'

'Left right hawa tight Koel madam. Karan sirji toh humme pakka maar daalenge.' Bala said fearfully.

'#He's right. Par hum kare kya?' Chitra asked.

'I have an idea par mujhe nahi patah if it will work or not.' Koel said she was optimistic about her idea but also had a place for doubt bout the success of it.

BATRA SIR'S CABIN

Colonel Batra and Mrs. Batra were sat at the table talking.

'Aaj kitne saalo baad academy ki raunak wapas aayi hai. Mere dono bete wapas aagaye hai.' Mrs. Batra said.

'Sahi kaha aapne. Yeh academy mai phirse jaan aagayi hai.' Colonel Batra replied.

'Suniye kyu na hum Param aur Karan ke liye kuch kare. Aakhir kaar aapke do best commandos aur mere bete wapas mission successful karke aaye hai.' Mrs. Batra suggested.

'Arrey bhai naiki aur puch puch. Definitely humme kuch karna chahiye.' Batra sir replied in agreement.

A knock was heard in the cabin door.

'Yes come in.' Colonel Batra replied.

'Good evening sir.' the cadets replied clicking their toes in respect for their head.

'Aap sab log yaha. Anything serious?' Batra sir asked.

'Woh sir...Sumanji nahi Chitra batayegi.'

'What me ! Okay actually sir Bala tum batau.'

'MAI. Mai nahi Premji aap bataiye.'

'Hum kya bataye Batra sir. Woh hum yaha aapse.' and Premji trailed off his words disappearing.

'Arrey koi batayega bhi kya baat hui hai?' Batra Maam asked.

'Mai batata hu ma'am.' Koel replied before taking in a deep breath and mustering all the courage 'Sir Ma'am woh actually kyuki Karan sir aur Param sir itne dino baad academy wapas aaye hai itna dangerous mission complete karke. We wanted to throw a party for them. It's our way of showing love and respect towards Karan sir and Param sir. And we want this to be a surprise but hum without permission yeh kuch bhi nahi kar sakte. Isliye hum aapse permission lene aaye hai.' Koel said and sighed a heavy sigh of relief.

'This is such a wonderful idea. Infact mai aur aapki Batra Ma'am bhi kuch soch rahe the Param aur Karan ke liye kuch karne ke liye. Aur aap logo ne yeh party ka bohot acha plan banaya hai. I give you full permission to organize this party.' Batra sir said giving a nod to the cadets' idea about the party.

'Yesss!!' the cadets exclaimed.

'Thank you so much Sir & Ma'am.' Koel said on behalf of all cadets.

'Chalo baccho bohot hogaya thank you shank you abhi jaldi party ke taiyaari mai lago. Aur mai bhi tumlogo ki maddat karungi.' Batra Ma'am said and the cadets cheered again.

'Lekin cadets make sure ki yeh surprise rahe. Waise toh Karan se kuch chupaana bohot mushkil hai but I know aap log handle kar loge.' Batra sir said.

'Batra sir Sumanji keh rahi hai ki Karan sir ko iss party ke baare mai bhanak bhi nahi lagegi.' Sumanji promised and the other cadets nodded in agreement.

Also I do not have much idea about wedding rituals and the significance behind it. The above part where the chunni chadana ceremony was mentioned I searched about it on google. So please forgive me if there was anything wrong written, it wasn't my intention to hurt anyone's feelings. 🤍
