XV

Much to Lily's dismay, they made it to the estate faster than expected due to Xavier going over the speed limit, and to say Lily was frightened would be an understatement.

"Go wait for me in my office, I'll be there soon." He said trying his best to stay calm.

Lily nodded and quickly left the car heading to his office.

She made it to his office, and sat on one of the leather couches there, overthinking what was to come.

Thankfully, her overthinking was cut short by the door swinging open by none other than Xavier who seemed a bit calmer than before.

He took a seat across her and began his interrogation.

"Why Lily? Why did you defy my order? Why?"

"I-I went to the bathroom because I accidentally spilled juice on my dress." She explained timidly.

"You could've cleaned it with some napkins, you could've done anything, but you should never defy me."

"I know, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that."

"I understand that everything here is new to you, but I'm trying not to make you feel like a prisoner here, and you doing this will prevent me from doing so anymore." He explained.

"I don't want any of this! I want to go home, please just let me go home, my momma and papa must be so worried. Please!" She begged with tears in her eyes.

"I'm afraid I can't Lily."

"Why? I promise I didn't see anything, I swear!"

"That's not the only reason."

"What? What did I do? I promise I didn't do anything!"

"You didn't do anything, it's complicated."

"Please tell me, it's my right to know why I'm being held hostage!"

"I'm selfish! I want to keep you here because I can and want to! Now that I told you why, you're excused."

She had so many to questions to ask but decided to leave and not press on the matter, because she knew he'd probably blow up on her soon, she left to her room with tears blurring her eyes, changed into more comfortable clothes, and went to sleep.

She woke up the next day to Gisele's voice waking her up.

"Come on Lily, it's 12 PM, it's time to get up." She told her softly.

"Good-morning, Gisele. Why did you let me sleep that much?" She softly asked her.

"Boss gave you the day off today, so no work for today! I'll leave you to get ready now." She excitedly told her.

Lily smiled gently at the kind woman as she made her way to the small connected bathroom.

She took a shower, got dressed in one of her dresses - the ones she bought with Gisele - since it was a day off, and was ready to start the day.

She decided to talk to Xavier that day and to ask him all the questions she had in her mind, it was her right to know after all.

"Gisele, do you know when the boss will be back? I need to talk to him." She told Gisele as she munched on her breakfast.

"He is usually back at approximately 6 PM."

"Oh okay, Can I spend the day in the gardens and when he arrives, can you please notify me?" She asked sweetly.

"Sure, sweetheart!"

Lily smiled at sweet lady and left to the gardens.

"Lily sweetheart, Xavier is back, you wanted to talk to him!" Exclaimed Gisele as she entered the garden.

"Oh wow, time flew by!" She said as she made her way towards the estate.

"Is he in his office?" She nervously asked Gisele.

"Yes, sweetheart."

"Okay thank you!" She thanked her as she made her way towards his office.

When she finally arrived there, her palms were sweating heavily and her breathing was uneven, yet she mustered the courage and knocked at the door.

"Enter." Answered a stern voice.

She quietly entered the office, closed the door behind her, and stood there waiting for him to tell her what to do.

"Take a seat, Lily."

She quickly took a seat across him, and waited for him to say something.

"I assume you want something, if you came to my office." He said, breaking the uncomfortable silence.

"Uhm yes, I actually wanted to talk about something." She said rather timidly.

"Go on." He assured her.

"What's happening isn't right, you can't just kidnap me and separate me from my family, I'm a person too, how would you feel if you were kidnapped, forced to travel to another country, and get separated from your family?
I think I know who you are and what you can do, so I won't be telling the authorities, so please let me go." She said her voice cracking towards the end.

"No."

"If you won't let me go, then I'll go by myself!"

"You won't survive a day alone in a foreign country!"

She knew his words were true, but she wasn't about to stop.

"Why are you doing this to me? I won't be of harm towards you, you're obviously a very powerful man, so please sir, let me go, please!" She begged, pouring all her frustration out.

"Lily, I think it's time for you to leave!"

"No!"

"Lily, leave before I do something I regret." He warned.

"No!" She answered stubbornly.

It was silent for a while, when he suddenly grabbed her arm, turned her around, and did something she never expected him to do.

He kissed her.
