Marie sighs "Me too, kid. I've looked for him every chance I got, but I could never find him" she chuckles "But of course, he's the Fastest Thing Alive"

Cream: Marie

Marie: Huh?

Cream looks up at her "How do you know Maurice?"

Marie chuckles again and sits on the couch next to her "I could never say this to his face, but he's my closest friend"

Cream: Really?

Marie nods "We actually came to this city together. I was just some selfish con artist, granted, I still am, I'm just a little more than that now. Being around him made me rethink my life. We ended getting jobs helping people get to this city" she looks out the nearby window with a frown "And coming here was the second chance we both hoped for. Honestly, it hurts to see him in this situation" she smirks "But I know he can take care of himself, so I'm not all that worried"

Cream smiles at her

Marie: You wanna know something?

Cream: What is it?

Marie: The fact that he trusted you to me of all people shows what you mean to him. He could've given you to the mayor, or to those people in the CO•OP, which I'm sure he has plenty of times, but trusting you to me... He knows something big's about to go down, and he sees me as the only one that can keep you alive when it does. I saw it in his eyes... You mean a lot to him, kid

Cream: You think so?

Marie nods "I know so. Listen, I gotta take care of some stuff tonight, and he's told me all about your training with him. And seeing as how I'm watching over you, I think it'd be best that you come with me"

Cream's eyes sparkle "Really? Sonic's never brought me on his adventures before"

Marie smirks "Well, you're not with Sonic today. You're with me"

Marie finds Flip and Ogami "Hope I'm not too late, boys"

Flip: Nope, actually you're just in time
He looks down at Cream "Who's the kid?"

Ogami looks down at her as well

Marie: Babysitting for a friend

Ogami: *What is that boy doing?*

Flip laughs "You? Babysitting? Now I've seen everything" he opens the trunk of his car "Anyway, so far, Kodomaki got everyone in the family to board the boat. Next up are the people from the slums. They'll be easy to gather if we offer money"

Ogami grabs said money "Marie, you can do whatever it takes" he hands her the money "Get as many people out of there as possible"

Marie pushes the money back to him "Leave it to us" she walks off with Cream as Ogami takes out a pistol

Flip: You sure you're gonna need that?

Ogami: I hope not, but I can't fail

Flip: Then we're gonna go with you as well

Ogami: We can't cause a scene and scare off the audience. Just be ready to handle things if this turns out bad. I will stop their leader alone

Flip: What about that Hedgehog kid?

Ogami: Haven't seen him, I'm sure he's fine though. He may be reckless, but he's not a complete idiot
