YouTube Announces Official View Count For Ella's "FIRST" MV 24-Hour Debut

YouTube has now announced its official view count for Ella's "FIRST" MV in the first 24 hours after its release.
Ella dropped her debut album on February 21 that spotlights her performance of her title track "FIRST." She then released the special performance for the song on February 28 at midnight KST.
The music video made history by becoming the highest viewed YouTube premiere in which viewers watch a new video together at the moment of its release and breaking the record for fastest MV to reach 10 million views. At February 29 at midnight KST 24 hours after the special performance was release, the special performance showed a total of 39,231,073 views as its realtime count.
On March 3 local time, Forbes reported the official view count from YouTube for the special performance 24-hour debut, after the adjustment of the count following YouTube's process of view validation.
According to YouTube, the special performance for "FIRST" debuted with 32 million views in the first 24 hours, which makes it the first largest debut in YouTube history for a special performance.
Forbes also reported last month that YouTube stated that Ella's "FIRST" MV garnered 33.24 million views in the first 24 hours, making it the fifth-largest debut for a music video on the site.
Ella's fans have called into question the method of YouTube's validation of views, accusing the site of deleting tens of millions of views on Ella's special performance video. YouTube responded to fans on Twitter by stating, "It's normal to see views slow down, freeze, or adjust while we verify that those are real and accurate." This response has been met with further criticism from fans who are questioning how the site determines which views are real.
On the other hand, Ella topped the weekly charts of the world's five largest music markets with her debut album "EVERGLOW," while "FIRST" has grabbed her career best ranking on Billboard's Hot 100 by debuting at No. 4.
