The Slytherin Prince And Princess ✔️

1. First year

I remember my first year at Hogwarts like it was yesterday. Thankfully I went with my best friend, Draco Malfoy. Our parents are family friends and we are 2 of the longest lasting pure blood families. My mums brother, Severus is halfblood, apparently grandma married a muggle, but he died soon after. My grandma remarried to my grandpa who had my mum.
I can remember what the note said I needed for my first year.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL IF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY
Uniform:
First year students will require
1. Three sets of plane work robes (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
4. One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)
Please note that all pupils' clothes should carry name tags

Set Books
All students should have a copy of each of the following
The standard book of spells
A history of magic
Magical theory
Beginners guide to transfiguration
Magical herbs
Fantastic beasts and where to find them

Othe Equipment
1 wand
1 cauldron
1 set glass or crystal phials
1 telescope
1 set brass scales

I remember getting my wand from Olivanders. The one I ended up with is African blackwood and the core is dragon heartstring. I also got my owl, Snow Drop that day.

A week after that and I was getting off the train with Draco, Crabbe and Goyle. We had entered the castle and escorted to some large doors, there stands a tall woman in green robes, Professor McGonagall. I remember mine and Dracos first meeting with Harry Potter, the boy who lived
"Welcome to Hogwarts. I am Professor McGonagall. Now in a few moments you will pass through these doors and join your class mates, but before you can take your seats you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin" Draco gives me a nudge and smiles at me "now while your here , your house will be like your family. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. Your triumphs will earn your points while rules breaking and you will loose points. At the end of the year the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honour. The sorting ceremony will begin shortly" McGonagall walks off
"So it's true then?" Draco speaks "what they were saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts. This is Crabbe, Goyle, this is YN Silverling and I'm Draco Malfoy" a boy snickers at us
"Looking at your hand me downs and ginger hair, you must be a Weasley"
"You'll soon find out that some wizarding families are better than others Potter. You don't want to go making the wrong sort. We can help you there" Draco puts his hand out to Harry
"I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself thanks"

We were then escorted into the hall.
Candles floating above our heads, loud chattering coming from all of the tables and in front of us was Professor Dumbledore stood next to the sorting hat. Professor McGonagall walks over to the hat and the sorting ceremony began
"Hermione Granger"
"Right then, right Gryffindor!" the sorting hat yells
"Draco Malfoy" Draco walks up to the sorting hat and before its even put on his head it shouts out
"Slytherin!"
"Susan Bones"
"Hufflepuff!"
"Ronald Wesley"
"Another Weasley. I know what to do with you, Gryffindor!"
"Harry Potter" the room falls silent as Harry walks up to the hat whispering something to himself
"Difficult very difficult, a lot of courage I see. Not Slytherin ay? better be Gryffindor"
"YN Silverling" my names called. I take a deep breath and walk up to the hat. My uncle Severus leans forward wanting to hear where I'm put
"Silverling well there's only one house. Slytherin!" I go and join Draco at the table and watch the rest of the ceremony until it's time to eat then Dumbledore gives us all a boring speech.

Draco and I watched our first quidditch game that year, which lead to Draco telling me the following year he would be on the team. There was also a troll in the dungeon which we were then told to go to our common rooms... Slythrins is in the dungeon!  Professor Quirrell then disappeared after Harry, Hermione and Ron... well I'm not entirely sure what but Dumbledore said something about a game of chess?
Our first year established our friends, our enemies and who we would be during our time at Hogwarts.
