"Were stuck, Dean"

Dean looked wide eyed at his soulmate, his panicked blue eyes staring right back

"There has to be another way" he rushed to his duffel bag, loading his shotgun with salt, grabbing his regular gun with the other hand

"You can't defeat all of them"

"Well what am I supposed to do?? Just let them take you away?"

"Take me? Why-"

"Sam made a mistake, and were here to fix it" he replied, the shotgun clicking as it loaded

"You can't fight them off"

"If you helped, that would be amazing"

"It's SUICIDE!"

"I'd rather die there than LOSE YOU"

they were angrily staring at each other, tension building up

"If they're here for me, let them have me"

"Cas- no"

"Dean-"

"You don't get a say in this"

"Yes, I do!" He stepped towards his human, lowering his gun filled hands to force him into listening

"All I brought, ever since I existed, was pain. First with heavens war against Raphael, which was all to save humanity. I brought countless of my brethren into battle to die, all for nothing. My garrison got broken, most of them disappeared or killed themselves because they didn't want to see their sacrifices become useless the moment God came back. And Anna-" he stopped himself, the subject becoming too much. "Anna got tortured, dismantled. Her wings got cut off in the most horrific way. She got forced out of heaven because she believed in free will"

"How is that your fault, Cas?"

"Because I- I told her we could be free. I encouraged her to rebel- I rebelled with her. I started that war, I caused Anna's death and for some forbidden reason I'm still alive" he was crying, the painful memory of his sister paining in his chest

"Because of me, she died. Thousands, died. And when the line appeared; I thought maybe - just maybe, life was worth living. That it was a sign to keep obeying my father in hope to see earth, to see what I fought so much for"

"Cas-"

"But I was wrong. Because of me you were bullied, tormented, beaten. For 21 years I could've been helping you- I could've shown up and save you at any time. But instead I- I was scared. I thought if I could be forgiven - if my siblings could forgive me that it would all be alright.

But instead I hurt the person I care about the most

I'm a burden. A curse. I brought you pain, and I'll never be able to forgive myself for it"

Castiel had tear filled eyes, calmly talking to Dean while he, on the other hand, was lost in oblivion

He was confused, demented. He didn't want to understand what he was saying

Cas inched closer, kissing him on the lips, lingering for seconds. He brought his right hand to his left shoulder, comforting the man before him. "I love you" he whispered, slowly walking towards the door

Ready to give himself up

Ready to leave

Dean's whole body was frozen. His eyes were unfocused and his breathing hoarse. This was not happening. He wouldn't let this happen

"Wait"

The angel turned around, stopping and looking at the human

"You'll be better off without me, Dean. This is for the best"
