WEARINESS
No. 2

I took her out tonight just to catch up a bit
Although I wasn't ready, I have to admit
There's too much that didn't work and too few that did
Maybe it's too late,
For her to truly love me

With her by my side, lately, it's been better to live
I could put aside the pain, I couldn't for awhile
Rather than to survive I focused on feeling alive
But I can't be,
Letting her too close to me

We've danced through all the night and didn't even care,
That after 2 a.m. we didn't make any sense
With every little step, she took away my breath
But I'm sure she,
She can't possibly love me

Back now in her room, candles lit all around
She told me for this occasion, that's all that she found
I'm overwhelmed by guilt and prefer not to make a sound
'Cause I'm sorry,
But she can't fall in love with me

Months, I spent with her, trynna make up an excuse
For months, I tried to stop all the love I diffused
And for months I have been working on a letter that includes
A long story,
Of why I can't let her love me

One day, I'll leave her a note on my side of our bed
One, I didn't throw away forced by a wave of regret
I'll give her all my love, and all the things left unsaid
That "I'm sorry,
But I can't let you love me"
