Jesse goes in and out of sleep next to me.

I slap him as he jolts awake.

You: We got an hour left. Don't get us a scream from Maria. She hates me enough.

Jesse: Yeah, yeah. Wait. Why does she hate you?

You: For my past.

Jesse: Nope, she was actually complimenting your work.

You: Of course that's a lie. She despises me.

Jesse: My theory, Joel told Tommy some good stories about you and Tommy told Maria.

You: If you insist.

He chuckles, bags under his eyes.

Jesse: Watch tommorow. You'll see.

I look to my left and see Dina with Ellie, talking.

Jesse: Thinking about her, huh?

I don't know why she is like that. Why she said that.

You: Yeah...

The quiet is perfect with the dark night.

Jesse: Tell her how you feel.

You: How do you know I have a crush on her?

Jesse: It's very obvious.

You:...You're joking.

Jesse: No. It's very obvious.

I hold the beer in my hand, looking down, Exhausted.

You: What should I do, man?

Jesse: Tell her how you feel.

You: What if she just doesn't like to date me? That shit would leave me broken.

You: What if things could never be normal again?

I throw the bottle on the floor as it shatters everywhere, gaining the attention of them two.

I look down at my bloody hand.

Dina shouts from across.

Dina: Everything okay?!

Jesse: More or less!

He shouts back.

Jesse: Y/N just cut his hand! It's ok!

I see Ellie pick up a First Aid Kit and begins to walk over.

You: Fuck, man.

Jesse: Cool it on the beer,

He stands up, putting his hand on my shoulder.

Jesse: I'll talk to Dina whilst you just...relax.

He walks away, passing Ellie as she stands next to me.

You: Fucking don't, Ellie...

I keep my head down.

Ellie:...Y/N?

I don't talk.

She's clearly confused.

Ellie: Did I do something wrong?...
