Chapter 41

Everybody pulled their partner to the dance floor, I looked at Thomas but I found him already looking at me. I looked down shyly "May I have this dance?" He asks with his deep voice, I looked down and smiled before nodding my head, thomas held my hand as he lead me to the dance floor.

I almost forgot how to dance, I whispered to Thomas "Thomas, I don't know how to dance" I said while looking at him, Thomas grinned "Follow my steps, just dont look down. You can feel it" He whispered, nodding my head as we all start to dance around the ballroom.

I gasped at the fast step, I smiled widely and held Thomas's shoulder as he held my waist. I remember our first dance back when I didn't knew he was a Prince, looking into his eyes as he smiled at me before turning me around. I held his hand again and his shoulder as we dance around the room with the people giggling to each other and chuckling in the background as they dance with their partners.

Nikolai's Pov

Here am I, sitting on my throne while looking around the people as they danced around the room with a wide smile in their faces. 2 women came infront of me and bow down "rise" I said coldly, They lift their heads up and smiled at me "Your Majesty, we offer you our gifts to you" They said, I nodded "Thank you" I replied, They giggled as they heard my voice.

They put their gifts beside me while my eyes scanning around the room when one woman caught my eyes, and it's not just a woman. It's the love of my life, Evelyn. My heart starts to beat fast and I can feel it trying to get out of my chest, I was about to stand up to go to Evelyn when I clenched my fist as I saw Thomas dancing with her with a smile in their faces.

My expression turned to dark, clenching my fist tightly as I looked both of them like they are the only person in my eyes. I still cannot believe Evelyn is married to this psycho, I snapped my finger and one of my men came to me "You called me, Your Highness?" He asked, I hummed in response without taking my eyes off of Evelyn with Thomas.

"Distract King Thomas away from the ballroom" I said while looking at Evelyn laughing at Thomas who almost slipped from the slippery floor, My men looked at them both before nodding their head "Yes, Your Highness" He replied while bowing down to me before walking towards Thomas.

One of my men bowed down before speaking to Thomas "Your Majesties, sorry to interrupt your time but we needed you immediately" He said, Thomas furrowed his brows "We came here to take a rest from the tiring day of work in my Palace, we did not come to do another works in here" Thomas said while crossing his arms angrily, but Evelyn held his arms "It's okay, we'll go" She said.

But my men replied "Only King Thomas shall come to me, this is urgent" He said, Thomas looked at Evelyn for a while "Stay here and don't go anywhere" He said, Evelyn nodded before Thomas kissed her forehead then followed one of my men and I clenched my fist.

Evelyn is left alone, she smiled as she looked the crowd dancing. I watched her carefully as she walked infront of the table full of desert and I saw her mouth opened, she looked around and get one of piece before shoving it in her mouth.

I laughed, she really loves stealing food before the desert starts. I stood up from my throne and walked towards her, people stopped dancing to look and admire me while I focused on looking at Evelyn's back as she secretly eat a strawberry, leaning down and whispered "Hungry?" I asked, Evelyn turned around with wide eyes. I smirked at her reaction, interesting.

Evelyn looked down embarrassed, I chuckled and furrowed, turning around to see all the people looking at me as they whisper each other. I looked at the musicians and give them a look, they quickly continued the song. Everybody starts to go back to dance.

I turned around to Evelyn with a smile "It's fine" I said lowly for her to hear, Evelyn gasped and showed me a box. I furrowed and looked down at her as she showed me her friendly smile "A gift for you" Evelyn said, I held the box while still looking at her. Evelyn kept smiling "Happy Birthday" She said, My heart is beating so fast. I can't do anything about it, I smiled back at her "Thank you, Evelyn. It means so much to me" I replied while looking at her beautiful eyes.

Evelyn looked at my Throne "There's a lot of gift there yet you haven't lay hand of it" She said, I chuckled and shook my head "I'll open them later, but I must open yours first. Let's go somewhere shall we?" I asked, Evelyn smiled and nodded her head.

I took Evelyn's hand as I lead her out of the ballroom, walking upstairs to my chambers before closing the door. Evelyn was about to sit on the floor but before she does, I quickly held her hand and lift her up "Sit on my bed" I said, Evelyn nodded as she sat down on my bed.

Sitting beside her as I opened the gift with an excited heart feeling, Evelyn smiled at my reaction "Now, what is this gonna be" I said, guessing it. Opening the wrappers first before the box slowly and I stopped my hand. Looking down to see a cookie with a simply smile face, Evelyn smiled and point at it "That one is a happy smile, they are different cookies inside. I cooked it by my own as a secret. I never put sad cookie because I dont want you eating a sad cookie because it'll make you sad" She said excitedly.

I kept looking down at the cookies, Evelyn looked up to my reaction as her smile faded "Do you not like it? Oh, I should have known. I can give you another on-" I cutted her off by hugging her tightly "No, This is the best gift I've got" I said, I hope she feels my heart beating as our chest pressed together while I hugged her.

Evelyn patted my back and smiled before pulling away "I'm glad you liked it, always eat the happy face one" She said and I chuckled, looking at her seriously "Do you know what I meant about surprise me with the most beautiful present?" I asked her, Evelyn shrugged her shoulders before shaking her head "No, I dont know what the most beautiful present you want to have" She said with a sad tone.

I held her hand, Evelyn slowly looked up to me confusedly. I take a deep breathe "Evelyn, What I meant about to bring me the most beautiful present is you" I said while looking deeply into her eyes that looked surprised and shook, I held her hand tightly.

Evelyn chuckled as if it's a joke "Nikolai, what are you talking about?" She asked with a playful smile, I feel alive of how she mentioned my name from her lips "I love you, Evelyn. I know you are shock to hear it but this is how I feel for you, Please be with me" I said while looking into her eyes, Evelyn cannot believe it so she tried to release from me but I held her hand tightly.

Evelyn shake her head "Nikolai, I don't know how this happened but you are my friend who loves books. I don't love you, I love Thomas" She replied while looking down, I tightened my grip on her hand "Don't mention him, Accept me and your whole life will change forever. You will be my Queen and we will rule the Kingdom of Mithorin-" She cutted me off by raising her voice "Stop this, Nikolai. I don't like this!"

I shook my head, holding her hand tightly. Afraid to lose her, I dont care if she dont love me back. She is the love of my life, the only woman who made my heart beat faster "Be with me, Evelyn!" I shouted, Evelyn start to be angry at my loud voice. "No, Nikolai! I don't love yo-" I cutted her off by my hand on her neck as I slammed my lips on her.

I don't want to hear that word coming out from her lips, she loves me. I know it! Evelyn starts to push me by my chest but I pushed her down the bed as I pinned her hands above her head while I continued to kissed her roughly, Evelyn shook her head and I can feel hot tears streaming down her cheek.

But I ignored it, this is my chance to claim her. To claim the love of my life, my special present. I was about to kiss her more when the door slammed wide opened by Thomas who looked at us with wide eyes. I broke the kiss and glared at him, Evelyn looked up and pushed me to the ground as she ran into Thomas's arms "Thomas!" She cried out while hugging him. I stood up and watched Thomas angrily, clenching my fist as Thomas death glared at me. No one takes Evelyn from me, even if I have to kill this bastard to get her.
