CHAPTER 61

Lucas: Come over, Roderick. You bet—(cough) Mag-byahe ka na para hindi ka gabihin.

Emilia: Drive safely, son.

I just sigh and smile forcedly. When I ended the call, I immediately talk to Nico. I told him na sila muna ang bahala dito coz I have to go back to Manila. I also talk to our foreman. Nagpaalam na muna ako because I can't go ng basta-basta lang.

Well, I was thinking kung kakain pa ba ako ng lunch bago umalis but then again Dad sent me a message so I don't a have choice kundi umalis na agad.

From Dad:
I have meeting at exactly 4:30pm. I can't go so you will be the one who will attend.

I am now here inside the tent wherein Imee and her group conduct the Medical Mission. I keep on getting her attention but then again hindi niya ako napapansin so I've decided to walk towards her.

Rod: Love?

She didn't speak. She didn't even bother to look at me basta ipinagpapatuloy niya lang i-check ang matandang nasa harap niya.

Rod: Love, I have importa— (didn't finish his words cuz Imee speak up)

Imee: Rod pwede bang mamaya na? May ginagawa ako eh.

Rod: Love it ca— (didn't finish his words cuz Imee speak up)

Imee: Roderick naiintindihan mo naman ako diba? (gave Rod a serious stare)

Rod: Yes but I have so—

I didn't finish my words again dahil kinausap niya ang matanda and excuse herself for a while. When she stood up, she told me na sundan ko siya so that's what I did.

Imee: Ano ba yun, Roderick?

Rod: Love, Dad told me—

Imee: Tsaka pwede bang stop calling me love muna kapag nasa trabaho ako? Nakakahiya kasi. Ang daming taong nakakarinig so please, stop (then rolled her eyes)

Well, I know she's tired na kaya medyo masungit na so I just smile then came closer to her. I was about to held her face but she step back and speak up.

Imee: You know what, I don't have time for this. Kung gusto mo akong kausapin, mamayang lunch nalang besides anong oras na din naman.

Rod: Love, hindi ako ma—

Imee: Isang oras nalang kaya pwede ba mamaya na? Look, ang dami pang nakapila oh and we have to finish in an hour kasi nakakahiya sa kanila, kanina pa sila dito.

Rod: I know and I'm sorry, okay? (Then hold Imee's hand) It's just that I have important things to do and aalis ako kaya magpapaa——

Imee: Oo na, sige. You are free to go.

Rod: Okay, thank you and ahm I don't think makaka——

Imee: Rod, gawin mo na kung anong kailangan mong gawin at ako naman, I have to go back para matapos ko na din yung trabaho ko kasi sayang yung oras na nakatayo lang ako dito.
