eva took a sip of what i assumed was lemonade.

really old colby was sitting across from me, and i still
couldn't face him because it'd be too awkward.

like, imagine wanting to kiss a guy and then he turns into an old man? and he's broke too.

not even a financially stable old man. who's gonna pay for my nails?

me, obviously.

anyways, it was really fucking awkard. like, why did i want to kiss him? it's just weird.

like, i don't even see colby that way. i hated him a few months ago. i just don't know why i would want to kiss him.

suddenly, the fridge opened up.

"okay! i am this close to getting our colby back!" vic announced, pinching fingers to represent how close he was.

"you've been saying you're this close for weeks." eva copied him. "you're running out too daylight there, chief!

"eva, i am but one man. a strapping, intellectually magnificent man, but one man nonetheless." vic poured himself a cup of coffee.

"yeah, get off his back, mom!" colby cut in.
