"good morning!" hartley and i greeted the room full of people.
i set down the box of donuts, and began eating the red frosted one in my hand.
"how are my favorite supervillains?" hartley asked, walking into the living room.
the family quickly sushed her, despite no one being able to hear her.
"you look great." i smiled at amy. "do you wanna walk to school with me and hartley?"
"no, i'm good." amy said, almost immediately.
"i've been thinking about it all night; have you met captain valor? i heard his real name is doug." hartley laughed. "and what about sparkle girl? i heard she smells like truth, justice, and coconuts! and cupid smells like flowers."
i shuffled around awkwardly, trying to not listen and to stop the second hand embarrassment i was getting.
i offered jake a donut, and continued to be polite.
jake took it with a 'thank you.' and then stopped hartley's rant. "hartley, we would love to answer all your questions, it's just now isn't really a good time. they're still kinda processing the fact you guys know our secret."
