you set down the tacos in a seperate plate for him, while the other pieces are put into a big platter. maybe the others would stop by and grab one, right? you made sure to get horror three.

cross munched on his tacos as silently as he can, sweating a little because of the stare you're now sending at him.

❝So, how are you today..?❞ you mouthed, making the poor skeleton shrunk.

he gulps the food he has in his magical mouth, ❝...good.... you..?❞

❝Are you still mad at me because boss lectured us earlier?❞ tilting your head while also leaning on your arm, you asked. you sigh, ❝Look man, I'm sorry. I didn't-❞

❝it's ok!❞ he panicked, almost dropping the half-finished taco. ❝i'm not that childish.... you see me as dust or something?❞

in dust's room, did he sneezed. making the red-eyed skeleton groan in annoyance, ❛the hell's talking shit 'bout me?❜

back to you, you snort while also quick to cover it. ❝I know right?! He acts like a child somehow, pfffft! He's looking like he's about to throw a tantrum over it!❞

cross rolls his mismatched eyes, ❝because he did. can't even keep it down that i can hear him from my room.❞

you burst out laughing, as he only realizes about how he's talking to you so casually.

❛the other's are gonna go lunatic about this... not like they're not one already.❜ cross smiles a little with a pinch of awkwardness, ❝...i... gotta go..❞

❝Oh! That's fine! See you!❞ you nodded as he stands up, worried for a second at his conflicted gaze. when he reached the door, you gave him a smile and wave. I made progress!

you did a little victory dance, happy mood throughout the day.

THE NEXT DAY IS A LOVELY DAY,

cross, surprisingly, sat on the other end of the finished garden, the chaos on it yesterday not on view. and you just loved to water the flowers you planted there.

you turn to him with a smile, ❝Good morning, Cross.❞

❝What brings you here?❞ your mouth asks while your focus is elsewhere, that being your seedlings on the ground.

he wiggles uncomfortably, ❝....just... peace. i guess.❞

nodding, the stale conversation ends there. with you two enjoying the light atmosphere that twirled around the garden.

❝where is the robot following you?❞ cross asks, voice shaky at first and your wide eyes didn't help him at all.

you quickly piece yourself back, giving him a grateful smile. ❝Mr. Lie suspended it for three days, I should get it back at Saturday morning.❞

he nods, ❝punishment huh..? we have too.❞

❝Wait, really?❞

❝yeah. apparently, i won't be having my... necklace back at saturday.❞

❝It must be really important to you...❞ you mumble your thoughts, to which he approved with his nod.

❝yeah... you could say that.❞

a memory flashed onto your head and you smiled smugly, although hesitating, you fired the question. ❝Hey, I bought a cow yesterday. Wanna check it out?❞

you were obviously teasing but it seems he was too dense because with a horrified gasp, he gives you a glare. ❝w h a t ?❞

so dense!

you laugh awkwardly. ❝I'm kidding, geez! Get that reaction off your face, it's scary!❞
