secrets or lies: a johannie story

twenty one.

a: everyone went out snowboarding beside johnny and i. i wasn't feeling the greatest so i decided to stay back and he said he'd stay with me.
j: it's her birthday i couldn't leave her by herself.
a: very much appreciated
i say to him while i stare into his eyes and he stares back at mine.
then i snapped out of it.
a: we're playing bs which is a card game. it has another name but this is a family channel.
i say in a british accent.
i start to laugh and johnny laughs with me.
a: or is it?

j: why?
a: harry styles, this is a family show. or is it.
he doesn't understand.
a: you're terrible, anyways we're playing bs but johnnys never heard of it so it's new to him.
j: yeah we don't play this on the west coast and it doesn't really make much sense to me.
a: bs
i say and i started to laugh.
j: you think you're so funny
he says laughing. 
a: he is funny what else should we talk about?
j: how we became friends.
a: johnny was paid to be my friend.
he scoffs as i laugh.
j: that's not true.
a: kind of true
j: how we met!!
he says inpatient
a: well tell the story.
j: okay so i had a party and i was making out-
a: family channel.
j: hanging-
a: or is it?

i say cutting him off starting to laugh
j: jules stop! hanging out with this girl and i didn't want strings attached.
a: but he knew she liked him so he knew she'd say yes to hanging out.
i put in quotes.
j: partly true, but then she kept asking to actually hangout and wouldn't leave me alone, so i went up to annie in the hallways and hugged her to have her pretend to be a girl i was into.
a: that was the first time we ever spoke.
j: and then we found out we had math together and we hung out after school one day and she introduced me to everyone and now she literally my best friend.
a: yeah we honestly do everything together and he fits in with us so well.
i look outside and see the van pull up.
a: everyone's back so end of story time.
i say turning it off then shaking my body.
j: camera jitters?
a: yeah

i say laughing, but i was really nervous to see jayde.
i don't know what to say my feelings are hurt.
they all walked in but i didn't see jayde, luke, syd or katie.
h$: what are you guys playing?
a: bs wanna join
c: i do
cait: me too
ash: me as well
l: i do too.
h$: how were you guys playing with only two people you need at least three.
we both looked at each other and bursted out laughing.
a few moments after the four of them walk in.
a: y'all want to play bs with us.
k: we're always down.
jay: anns can i actually talk to you for a minute.
a: yeah.

i say standing up and we walk onto the porch.
a: what's up?
jay: first i apologized to syd, luke and katie and were all good now. we hung out snowboarding and they're really great people. second i'm really sorry. i wish i didn't act that way, but i did and all i can do is apologize for it. you're not a terrible friend i am, i'm happy for you in every way possible i just really don't want to ever lose you. you have all your best friends back in maryland but jules you're all i got.
i pulled her into a hug
a: you're never going to lose me, i may have a bunch of best friends but jayde that doesn't make you any less important to me. i'll make more time for us i promise i'm sorry.
jay: i missed you bubs.
a: i missed you too.

we walk back into the living room.
ash: we make up?
a: of course we did.
they started to cheer.
a: come play bs.
i turned the camera on.
a: okay everyone's back from snowboarding and now we're all playing bs together.
h$: put the camera on me.
i put it on hayley.
h$: these two idiots didn't realize you can't play the game with two people. it just doesn't work
j: in my defense i've never played before so this was juliannas doing.
a: way to throw me under the bus.

we had dinner and played cards the rest of the night until it was time for bed.
johnny and i were in my room after i just brushed my hair and brushed my teeth.
j: hey i think you should go sleep in the room with jayde tonight.
a: do you?
j: yeah it might make her feel special.
i want her to feel special.
a: okay
i love that he cares about my friendship with her
it makes me feel special to him.
i grab a pillow and a blanket and give him a kiss goodnight.
a: i'll see you in the morning.
j: goodnight beautiful.

i went a couple doors down and opened jayde door that was cracked.
she was in bed reading.
jay: hey
a: sleepover?
jay: yeah
she said smiling and scooting over in her bed to make room for me.
