The End

The physicists tell me

The world is coming to an end.

In ten billion years.

Our sun burns out then.

Nature can still ravish the planet.

Make life here pretty tough.

We can get wacked by an asteroid.

A super volcano can also be rough.

I think man is also a problem

Too smart for our own good.

Blow ourselves up with a bomb.

Or release a plague ending manhood.

I suppose we should mention

When God will come again.

Take his flock home.

The remaining will pay for their sin.

There is also a case to be made

That we'll be attacked

By little green alien men.

Our world hopelessly sacked.

Maybe like the Neanderthal

We'll be out competed

By a new species

And be totally defeated.

Most likely, because we are wasteful,

We'll deplete the earth's resources.

Destroy our planet's habitats.

No food or viable energy sources.

Who really knows the future

Or when it will all end?

But I think it is wise,

This I would recommend.

Try and be our

Planet's best friend.

It won't matter to us.

But it may postpone our eventual end.
