Hunters pov

With a little guidance from Edric we climbed onto the roof and sat down.

"see!" Edric said, pointing up at the starry sky.

"Whoa! I've never actually had a veiw this good." I said smiling, "back at the castle it's always smoggy."

As if on cue a shooting star rushed past us. Edric looked at me excitedly.

"what did you wish for?"

I thought for a minute.

"I want belos to stop coming after me. maybe if he just turned into the slime all he is I wouldn't have to worry so much"

"I kinda feel that way about my mom." Edric grinned, "She sucks."

"yeah?"

"Yeah, she makes us do her dirty work, advertizing her dumb buisness and testing my dads matchines, and she still somehow expects us to be better then everyone at school." Edric said before stopping suddenly, "Sorry that kinda came out of nowhere i- ill stop."

"what? er- no if you want to talk about it im right here" I said, offering a weak smile, "Maybe your parents and belos can form a shitty parents club."

Edric laughed, "What did he do anyways? if you want to talk about it i mean."

"Whoa thats a loaded question." I said, looking up at the stars. "where do i even start? Threatened my life, forced me to work for him and do his every bidding. Oh and he gave me this- . . . this scar, and a lot others." I said putting a hand to my face.

Edric looked over at me, even in the dim starlight i could tell he was horrified.

Tears started priking at my eyes. I didnt like to think about it but i felt good to get it off my chest. "Theres more but-"

Edric put a hand on my shoulder, "You dont need to talk about anything you dont want to." he reassured me. I looked over at him and wiped my tears away.

"Edric, what am i going to do? i escaped but hes still after me. Today he almost killed eda!"

"Honestly, i dont know." Edric said, "batrick?"

"clickclikchirp🎶" batrick sang.

"for- for moral support?" Edric said hopefully, "sorry, I've never been good at comforting people."

I smiled wiping my eyes, "thanks dude."

Edric looked back up at the sky and we lapsed into scilence

"so what did you wish for?" I asked breaking the stillness and looking over at him.

Edric glanced up at me and smiled. "i wished for a boyfriend."

"A boyfriend?" I asked.

"yeah, just someone i can cuddle and talk about my intrests with."

"That sounds nice."
