'Eeep! Eeep!'

Another bird followed with a high-pitched squeal.

She only wanted a second.

Just a second.

'Please, Lord. Hush these lovely creatures.'

And then gentle rustling came from the left.

A smile grew on her face.

She hoped the birds would find something interesting in the bushes.

'Bushes,'

There were no bushes nearby.

Her eyes shot open and she found three birds rummaging in her bag.

She waved her hands to scare them away, not wanting to hit them.

One bird looked up and squealed. 'Eeep! Eeep!'

As if it were mocking her.

'Oh, you stinky bird. If I could speak, you'd be bullied, surely.' She thought annoyed and then waved her hands again.

It didn't work.

She took her shoe off quickly and threw it away from her bag to distract them.

'EEEEP!'

Another bird screamed and took a scrunchie from her bag.

Claudia's mouth dropped.

It was her favorite scrunchie.

She threw her hands up as the annoyance grew within her.

The other two birds wandered away to her shoe, but her focus was now on the dumb thieving bird.

She wanted to yell at the bird. She wanted to tell it to give the scrunchie back.

But she couldn't.

And she wouldn't.

The bird watched her attentively while the scrunchie hung from its beak.

Claudia huffed.

'This won't work.'

She was defeated by a bird.

At least no one was around to see it and mock her for losing a battle with a dumb bird.

Or, so she assumed.

The sea inspired him.

How it remained in place and was created by the Word of God.

It could never refuse the Word of God.

And River was amazed.

Early mornings at the sea were special.

Even with three paintings of it already, River seemed to find something unique about the sea every day.

Today his focus was on the patterns of each wave.

He watched the sea from a bridged path over the sand.

The perfect place.

No sand could get on him, but he could still smell the freshness of the salt water.

He found that sand hindered the movements of his chair, even a bit on the wheels slowed him.

However, painting grains of sand was one of his favorite parts of painting the sea.

'Eeep! Eeep!'

River tore his eyes away from his painting and searched for the agitating source.
