   Chapter 37, Early Graduation Gift
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  " I didn't think you knew so much about me, I guess I never realized that we spend so much time together.. "
    ~ Scarlett's POV ~
          Only a mother's love could heal a broken heart, that's something I've been telling myself but it didn't matter.
  My mother doesn't exist to me and the one I do have, she's not my real mom.
   It doesn't matter how much time I could give to the world to have a mother that is biological and doesn't treat me wrong, I would still choose Alana.
   Something a bunch of people couldn't handle, something my mom can't even handle and yet she claims she doesn't even care.
      Alana and I have shared more moment together than my father and I combined, it's something that's quite confusing but we never mind it.
  Alana and I actually have this thing, where every Friday Night we watch Stranger Things.
   She told me both her friends, Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline were in it so you know I had to watch it with her.
  Especially since she hasn't even watched it yet, it's also been the talk of the school and I hate being left out but at the same time I do.
   Speaking of Friday night, that's what today is.
  When I got out of school, I waited for Jaden since he was coming over to help my dad with some project.
   I never ask what project he's doing because that means I have to help him and I'm just not interested, but there's golden boy.
   "Let's get going."
     I spoke out as I hugged him tightly, Jaden kissed my forehead and then I walked to the driver's side.
   Driving home with Jaden is chaos, he plays different music and then sings along to it as if his life depends on it.
   By singing the songs, I mean screaming them at the top of his lungs making it seem like I've been kidnapping him everyday of my life.
  He's a weird kid but I don't complain, he puts up with my attitudes and I put up with his weirdness.
   "Alright we're here, do not tell my dad that I could be a possible help because I will ignore you."
   I warned my boyfriend, he smiled at me cheekily and kissed my hand before I unlocked the door.
   Before my father gets a chance to ask if I wanted to help or know what they're doing, I run upstairs and head into my room.
     I take a nice warm shower and wash my hair before walking out with a towel wrapped around both my head and hair, I walked into my room and lock the door.
   Rummaging through my drawers are the highlight of my day, night, evening, afternoon or whatever since I always had cute pajamas.
   I had adrenaline coursing through mg veins as I threw all of my clothes out of my drawers, the only reason why I've been so excited since I got home is because I love spending time with Alana.
   She's a saint.
      "Dad!"
     I shouted from the inside of my room as I searched my whole entire bedroom, I groaned out loud as I tried searching for something Alana gave me.
   "What?!"
    He shouted back, I could hear that he was at the foot of the stairs.
   "Nevermind!"
  I checked under the bed and had pulled out a big box, I opened it and smiled as I grabbed a dark red notebook.
  The notebook is used for me personally to keep in touch with everything Alana and I do, it's sort of like a diary but it's also not.
     That's when I heard the door open from downstairs, quickly, I grabbed the notebook and grabbed a dark red pen.
  I ran downstairs and watched as Alana settled her things down before she caught a glimpse of me, I dropped the pen and notebook and jumped into her arms.
    "Let me take a shower and change, while I do that, can you make us some snacks?"
    Alana asked, I nodded and smiled as she walked upstairs.
   Atlantis was with Jessica, she wanted to babysit him considering Javon was with Delilah all the time and Daelo was spending the week with Jayla and Cora.
   I guess she missed having her babies around all the time, I would too if I had kids.
  I walked into the kitchen and got the snacks along with the drinks before walking upstairs and making my bed.
       I settled the snacks on the bed and the drinks were on the night stand, I was excited for this little marathon with her.
   Since it wasn't night however, we always watched something other than Stranger Things.
     When Alana walked into my room, she was holding a bag.
   She had smile on her face which was hard to miss, she's always happy whenever she's with the family.
    "I got you a little early present, I don't think I could wait until your graduation."
     Alana told me, I nodded and sat up as she handed me the bag which was exciting for me.
  I opened it in front of her and my eyes began to water, I looked at her and took a deep shaky breath.
   The bag held papers and the papers, well the papers are adoption papers.
  I looked at Alana and began to sob, she smiled at me as she gave me a tight hug.
    "But, but what if you still don't know me? Aren't you scared of making a big mistake?"
  I asked, I didn't want her to realize later that I wasn't a kid who she thought I was and that she would unadopt me and then leave.
  Alana just laughed at me and sat down beside me, she moved the snacks a bit.
   "Scarlett, I know that whenever you get scared, you turn your phone on and stare at photos of you and Jaden. I know that whenever you miss your father, you call me and begin to ramble."
    Alana begin to speak to me, I looked at her with a jaw dropped and took a deep breath as she continued her list.
   "I know that when you feel intimidated, you begin to tap your fingers, you think nobody knows but Jaden and I do. Something you don't think anyone knows is, when you get a bad feeling, you sleep the day away."
    Alana finished as she hugged me and kissed my forehead before grabbing the remote and looking for a movie to watch, I stared at her.
  " I didn't think you knew so much about me, I guess I never realized that we spend so much time together.. "
   I said breathlessly, Alana just smiled at me as she laid down.
   I finally have a mom who doesn't treat me like some weirdo, instead, she treats me like I'm the only daughter she has and that there's nobody else on the earth.
