Inevitable splinter
As skin meets wood:
It can be smooth,
It can be rough,
You may encounter a groove;Or worst of all a splinter.
Where a small piece extrudes breaks off
and easily intrudes a finger.Although small and insignificant
to anotherTo you it's life changing.
What if it were your Mother?Or Brother?
Or Dad?Would it make you sad?
But taking that stubborn splinter out early can be quite bad.
The best remedy for anything is time.
But when it's taken away why isn't it a crime? How can we go on?
It's harder than understanding a mime.Yet mimes get it most of all, they wear their feelings on their sleeve.
I don't think I can do that.
How could I possibly deceive? What's the best method?
That would not make me heave.
How do you think I should go about being able to grieve?-Oliver Purnell
