Max was too hungover to notice that Daniella was being very quiet, which was unusual for her. His headache was unbearable and could barely look at the light.

After a refreshing shower, Daniella came down to the kitchen and found her boyfriend sitting on a chair, one hand resting on the kitchen aisle while the other was massaging his forehead. Max let out a soft groan due to his head hurting so bad.

"Did you take the painkillers I left for you?" Daniella asked as she started making coffee for both of them.

"I did," Max replied, barely opening his eyes to look at her. "But I don't think they are working."

"Well... you did drink a lot last night," Daniella pointed out. "You collapsed on Lando at one point, poor guy didn't know what to do."

"I don't remember that," Max groaned as he continued massaging his forehead.

After a few minutes, the coffee was ready and Daniella poured it into two cups and gave one to Max. He smelled the fresh brew, the scent slightly helping him ease down.

Daniella went and stood behind Max and he immediately leaned his head against her. She chuckled and started gently massaging his forehead, making him close his eyes in comfort.

"This feels so good," He mumbled, and a small smile appeared on his face. "How come you don't have a hangover?"

"I lost my buzz before we left the club," She replied. She removed her hand from his head to grab her cup of coffee and took a sip.

"Last thing I remember is you went to the washroom," Max lazily said. As soon as Daniella put down her cup he gently grabbed her hand and put it back on his head, wanting her to keep massaging as it was helping with the headache.

Daniella can't help but smile. He becomes a bit needy and clingy when he is not feeling well, and she hates to admit it but she is just like him.

"I remember I kept waiting for you to come back, it felt like you were gone for an hour or so and after that, I don't remember anything," He added. "What took you so long?"

Daniella's face immediately fell, her mind going back to her encounter with Carlos. She remembered everything vividly, how he caressed her cheek, brushed his lip against her, kissed her, and of course, threatened to tell Max that she kissed him a few weeks ago.

"I umm... the washroom was crowded so..." Daniella lied.

Max didn't say anything as he believed her and was too busy enjoying the massage, his headache slowly fading away.

"You are better than the painkillers," He looked up at her and smiled.

"I take it that you are feeling better?"

"Much better."

"Good," Daniella gave a smile. "That means I can go get ready for the event."

Daniella tried to step away but Max held her hand and pulled her back.

"Wait, what event?" He asked, feeling confused.

"The team event I told you about yesterday," Daniella tried to refresh his memories.

"Oh right," He nodded as he remembered. "But... but if you leave then what am I going to do the entire day?"

"Take rest maybe," Daniella suggested. "I will be back in a few hours after that we can do something together."

Max watched Daniella as she styled her hair, she was already dressed and her makeup was done. As the hangover slowly faded he started noticing she was being a little distant and was a bit quiet, finding it very unusual.
