Chapter 7: Freed

Xiang Hao Ting for the first time texted Yu Xi Gu first that morning.

'Hey, Need to talk. Lunch?'

Yu Xi Gu's mobile screen lit up, making him jump. He was anticipating Xiang Hao Ting's text since last night's confession. He knew he had messed it up big time and that Xiang Hao Ting was more than furious about it. Yu Xi Gu honestly had no idea what Xiang Hao Ting felt while he just rushed to his dorm, leaving a confused Yu Xi Gu behind. Yu Xi Gu was tense at the moment but he didn't regret. He loves Xiang Hao Ting. He knows he does. Xiang Hao Ting felt like the best thing that could ever happen to him. Also there was this weird sense of familiarity with him. He had become the sole subject of Yu Xi Gu's thoughts and actions. But after last night, Yu Xi Gu was afraid he had hurt the Xiang Hao Ting instead. He also wanted to know what Xiang Hao Ting thought and also didn't want to face him at the moment. As he was fighting with these feelings he sent a message to Xiang Hao Ting...

'Okay, meet you for lunch in an hour :)'

As Yu Xi Gu sent the message he slammed his mobile upside down on the table, startling everyone in the library. He didn't want to look at it right now. He had to face Xiang Hao Ting as it is after an hour.

It was finally the moment of truth for both of them. They had decided to meet at the café near their college. Yu Xi Gu was ready to get rejected but of course he wasn't able to make his mind. He wanted to be with Xiang Hao Ting. He wanted to see him smile and cry. He wanted to be by his side for as long as it was possible. He felt so strongly for Xiang Hao Ting, he couldn't possibly just throw these feelings away. But he decided to respect Xiang Hao Ting's feelings whatever they would be.

On the other hand, Xiang Hao Ting was still trying to make his mind up to face Yu Xi Gu. He was still having a hard time deciding what he should say to him. He cannot even lie about not loving him. It was painful to even say his name at this point. He wanted to get this over with for once and for all.

As he entered the café, Xiang Hao Ting thought to himself, 'I'm going to end this all now.'
But seeing Yu Xi Gu, he instantly became confused. The love of his life, sitting in front of him. He loved him. He loved him so much.
'I cannot say no to his face. I cannot. But I have to. I need to.'

"Hey, here!" Yu Xi Gu said waving his hand.
"I haven't ordered yet, so maybe we can talk while we have something? You can choose. I'm going to have some cake and espresso."
"You don't look like a person who would drink espresso." Those were the first words Xiang Hao Ting said to Yu Xi Gu in almost two days.

"I get that a lot haha" Yu Xi Gu was relieved. Atleast Xiang Hao Ting was talking to him.

"Can I say something?"

"Go ahead. I'm all ears."

Xiang Hao Ting hesitated for a moment, swallowing his words.
"I think I'll have an americano."

"Oh of course, yes! I'll just give our order wait here." Yu Xi Gu didn't want to force Xiang Hao Ting to say anything at the moment.

"So, are you done with your lectures for today?"

"Yeah. I had just one today."

The atmosphere was slowly becoming awkward as the two people weren't able to express what they were feeling.

"Okay, I'll stop stalling around and get to the point." Yu Xi Gu had made his mind and heart up. "The other day, I confessed that I liked you, which is still the truth. I won't lie about anything to you. But, I realised I wasn't considerate of what you thought or were thinking at all. I know it's such a huge personality fault but I just honestly expressed my feelings, which was wrong at that time. I never thought you'd feel uncomfortable about it. I'm so sorry." Yu Xi Gu's eyes were clear. He knew what he wanted and how his actions might've hurt Xiang Hao Ting.

"I didn't feel uncomfortable." Xiang Hao Ting murmured softly.
"Actually," He finally spoke up. "I have to tell you something. Something I might have never told anyone. After listening to this, tell me if you still like me and I'd think about it."

Yu Xi Gu literally trembled and decided to make up his mind for what he was going to listen from his first love sitting right in front of him.
