Chapter 1: First Encounter

"Xiang Hao Ting, I don't understand how to do this. Math is so annoying sometimes." The guy wearing an oversized black hoodie and baggy jeans sulked.

'Says the guy who always explained it to me when I used to say the same' Xiang Hao Ting thought to himself and went on to comfort his friend sitting beside him doing his college assignment,
"Its simple Xiao* Gu, you haven't made a mistake in the formula, just check your calculation here."

"Oh my god! Yes! I knew it. After all math is my forte, don't you think so?" Yu Xi Gu exclaimed showing his refreshing smile which made Xiang Hao Ting laugh,
"It sure is..."

It had been a little over two years since 'that' incident happened and changed their lives forever. After the accident, Xiang Hao Ting was hesitant to even see Yu Xi Gu and refused to see him for months until he came face to face with his past once again when he met Yu Xi Gu in the college.

When he finally saw how Yu Xi Gu was doing, his heart felt at ease. He saw that bright, dazzling smile and it was as if all the sadness disappeared. He just felt grateful to see his love standing there in front of him. His heart beat faster and faster with each step Yu Xi Gu took towards him. He didn't know what to say. He quickly lowered his eyes. He was flustered to face him after all this time.

"Hello! I'm Yu Xi Gu. I'm from the Department of Physics. It's very nice to meet you!" The young man extended his hand and greeted Xiang Hao Ting with a warm smile.

Xiang Hao Ting looked up at the man standing in front of him and felt a longing in his heart, a feeling he was scared of now. There he was standing in front of him, his Xiao Gu, his lover, with no hint of hesitation and that smile of his reminded Xiang Hao Ting of the time that same face would look up and say 'I love you.' He supressed all these emotions because he knew that their days together were over now and Yu Xi Gu would never come to him anymore. He was satisfied just having a glance at him.

"Hello. I'm Xiang Hao Ting, from the Department of Photography and Visual Arts." Xiang Hao Ting said plainly but a thousand emotions lied in those words.

"I finally got to meet you! Weren't you the one who took the photographs during the stargazing event. Those came out so amazing! I really loved them!"

"I'm glad you liked them." Xiang Hao Ting replied with a smile. Even though he wanted to say more, he couldn't.

"I'll text you later then! I've gotta go, I have a class now." Yu Xi Gu said in a hurry and left behind a confused Xiang Hao Ting.

'He didn't get my number though. How would he text me. He sounded rather cheery for the first day of the semester. Guess he really liked my photos. After all, he loved looking up at the sky and admire the stars.' A million thoughts ran through his head at the same time. He knew he was still no good when he saw Yu Xi Gu. He needed to get over all of this. Maybe, now that he had seen Yu Xi Gu being so happy he can get over the past.....or so he thought.
