*Pov Angelica*
I enter my home not long after and soon I'm greated with little footsteps running my way.
"Mommy mommy" my daughter Adriana screams
Much like her father her hair is a thick chocolate brown but her eyes match my green ones. She's about to turn 5 this week but has the attitude of a 10 year old at least. I blame that on her father.
I give her a big hug and lift her into my arms positioning her on my hip. I pay the babysitter and thank her for staying with Adriana.
"Where were you mommy?", she asks shyly
" I had to see an old friend darling" I respond knowing she will ask more questions
" Does your old friend know daddy?", she questioned some more
"It was your daddy" I want to say
Instead I respond " Yes he knows your daddy very well"
"When will daddy come and see me, will he come for my birthday?"
I don't know how to respond so I quickly change the subject
"What do you want for lunch" I ask
After a prolonged silence she finally says spaghetti and I serve it to us within 20 minutes
After lunch Adriana when down for her usual 1 hour nap leaving me time to contemplate this morning's events
Knowing my ex husband he won't stop until I'm back in his arms. I can't risk him finding out about Adriana. I know that if he ever does there will be a lot of explaining to do especially after I just told him I lost one of our children. Sometimes I can't help but wonder what would have happened if we never got divorced and I never lost my precious little treasure.
