after that, she left the room. of course only to appear again a few seconds later even more upset than she was when she left.

when she returned she had the pillows from your side of the bed in her hands and the throw blanket that usual;y stayed at the foot of the bed

"you sleep on the couch tonight" she threw them on the couch before going back into the room shutting the door firmly behind her

you sighed. you were expecting that. you made yourself a small place on the sofa bed and laid down leaving you to your thoughts

after some time you were interrupted by pudding.

poor pudding had been so deprived of attention since Ruthie came to live with you and Mary K. you felt so bad for the poor kitty.

You let her head gently allowing her the curl up in your chest

"It's just us baby. Just like old times" you kissed her head before picking up your phone.

You had to make things better at least a little bit. You loved your girlfriend dearly and you didn't even mean for what you said to be heard by her.

You work up to the sound of Mary Kate feeding Ruth in the love seat across from you

You looked at your phone for the time

6:03 AM

"How long had see been up?" You asked standing up and moving around to the back of the chair so you could watch Ruth feed.

"Not long. Maybe an hour" you nodded before making your way ti the kitchen to assemble her meds for the day.

"Here we go baby" you knees down ifribt of Mary Kate who removed the bottle from the hungy baby's mouth.

as you preceded to give her various meds you could feel Mary Kate's gaze on you. You knew she was waiting for the right moment to say something.

"I know you didn't mean what you said" she said softly

You didn't say anything in return. In fact you were silent for so long Mary Kate was ready to repeat herself thinking you hadn't heard her at all.

"I still shouldn't have said it. I was frustrated. That's all. I shouldn't take it out on you or the baby though. That's my fault" you said giving Ruth the last surengefull of liquid medication and allowed her to go back to her breakfast.

"I forgive you" she stated simply and you nodded

"Can I have a kiss?" You smiled slightly at her and you watched as her hard face melted a little bit.

She leaned up puckering her lips for you which you quickly met with yours

"I do miss you... that was true" you looked her right in the eyes

"Maybe Lizzie would like to keep her for a night so we could have dinner" she leaned forward to kiss you again

"And sex?" you added into her lips

"And sex." She stated pulling you in for another kiss.

You were kindly interrupted the Ruth who began whining up at the two of you

"What are you talking about babygirl? Tell mommy" you cooed taking her from Mary Kate

"She still hasn't gotten much of her color back"

"The antibiotics need a full 24 hours before we'll start seeing so progress" you stated simply burping the baby on your shoulder

"Which means..."

"Which mean we'll still have a sick, fussy baby until tomorrow morning" you smiled at Ruth who began munching on her fingers out of frustration

"At least she's eating again" Mary Kate stated rubbing Ruth's stomach who was now cradled in your arms

"Yeah that was scary" you agreed knowing how worded Mary Kate was.

"Baby?" You started placing a hand on Mary Kate knee.

She suddenly started to silently cry.

"Did you get any sleep last night?" You asked knowingly

She only shook her head as she let out a small sob.

"You should go lay down. I got her" Mary Kate really didn't want to leave but she nodded nonetheless

The new parent thing is really hitting her hard.

"We need to give your mama a break" you cooed down at Ruth

"Hey kitten" Mary Kate greeted when you and Ruth walked into the bathroom.

You only knelt beside the bathtub where Mary Kate was gently washing her body

"We miss you" you pouted holding up Ruth who was smiling widely

"Hi sweetheart" Mary Kate smiled equally as wide at Ruth

"How is she?" Mary Kate asked rubbing your arm with was rested on the side of the tub

"She's definitely starting to feel like herself again" you smiled at Ruth who was now laying on the bath mat cooing to herself.

"Let me see her" Mary Kate stated waiting for you to undress the bag and put her into the tub with her.

You did just that and cooed at the now shivering baby as you placed her into the warm bath water.

"I know it cold, I'm sorry my love" Mary Kate apologized to the now whimpering baby.

As she soothed Tweety you cupped your hand using it to pour water over Ruth's back hoping to warm the little girl up.

"There you go.. all cozy" Mary Kate cooed as Ruth found her place on Mary Kate's Chest

Your girlfriend scooted down a little more in the tub allowing for more of the baby to be in the water, seeing as she was afraid Ruth may get cold again.

Ruth opened her eyes widely and lifting her head up

"Look at you... strong girl" Mary Kate smiled proudly at her daughter

And all of the sudden you had the urge to cry.

You realized how attached you'd become.

Not just to Ruth. To both of them. Both of them together and either of them alone.

Ruth let out a small grunt as her rested her head on Mary Kate's chin. A kiss being placed on the side of her head at the easy access

Roth reached her hand up to Mary Kate's lips that had just kissed her, pulling in them slightly.

"What you got baby. You found Mama's lips Hmm?" You cooed softly at the little one, meanwhile Mary Kate was growing up comfortably at her uncomfortable hold on her lips.

You simply chuckled at the two of them.
