A couple days later Lena and Kara go out golfing for the first time in a while when the subject is brought up again
"So maybe I did do a look, but hearing him say it out loud with never having children I mean is that true?" Lena ask as they exist the golf car
"I quit bringing it up because every time I asked you would say it's not the right time" Kara says
Lena frowns "I know but we're always so tired and the company would be in trouble, but I always thought I would be a mom someday and I think I'm ready" Lena says as she swings the club back and hits the ball
"Great now your ready and by the time the kids sixteen I'm gonna be one of those old moms like Ryan Henderson mom" Kara looks out at the lake clearly lost in her own thoughts
Lena hugs her and whispers "You didn't kill Mrs.Henderson and you're not that old" Kara turns to look at her "Here's an idea why don't we adopt a five year old be like we got cracking when we were thirty six, how about that?"
Lena looks at her confused but seems to actually consider it
later that day Kara and Alex are at the house trying to fix up most of the damaged floor boards while Kara rants after Alex takes It all In she turns to Kara "I think your over thinking it Kar" Kara looks over "Keep your hand straight" Alex rolls her eyes classic Kara avoiding the problem when she gets uncomfortable "I mean most kids aren't planned the kid shows up and you figure It out easy peasy I mean at least for you" Alex motions towards Kara's pants
Kara blushes "I mean there is nothing hard about kids I mean I think me and maggie do a pretty good job you just have to spend time with them and love them ,they're cool" After finishing the floor In the room Kara says goodnight to everyone on the crew and hugs her sister
"Thanks for the advice". Kara gets home a bit later she parks her truck and then enters the house where she is greeted by Puppygenius Her and Lena's dog
"Hey buddy, hey you miss me, huh I missed you too. Yeah your such a good boy " she pets the dog give him hugs and kisses
"Hey Lee I got the tile samples for the kitchen" She looks up from the dog and sees her wife staring sadly at the computer almost crying
she runs into Lenas home office and hugs her "Hey Lee, baby what's wrong ,are you ok? Wait no thats stupid of course not" Lena lets out a dry chuckle "Nothing I was just thinking about what you said before" Kara frowns "I'm sorry if I hurt you, I was being insensit-"
Lena puts her finger on kara's lips shushing "Hey you did nothing wrong, I just thought since we are both adopted. That maybe we could adopt a five year old"
Kara hugs her "do you want to do this because I don't want push you" Lena nods into Kara's chest "Yes there are so many children that need a home and we can supply that for them, we can both say the foster care system doesn't treat the kids well they move them from place to place treating them like things and not humans. I found this adoption agency and they are having a orientation next week and I was wondering if we could go"
Kara smile and kisses her wife "Let's do this"
