Hope's P.O.V

"What are you staring at?" Aaliyahs sweet voice interrupted my thoughts, causing me to blush.

"Nothing," I mumbled, smiling back at her. She  smiled at me, shaking her head and continued drinking her coffee. I couldn't help but let my mind wonder to her again. Her smooth sun kissed skin, the way her hair was longer and began showing slight split ends from not getting it cut, to her lips that always made my stomach feel squirmish every time I thought about kissing her.

"You're doing it again," her sweet voice awoke me again, causing me to look away shyly.

"Sorry, I can't help it," I  chuckled nervously, tapping my fingers against my coffee mug. I looked up when I felt Aaliyah move, placing her coffee cup on the table. She carefully grabbed mine from my hands, placing it next to hers before pulling me closer to her side with her arm. I wrapped my arm around her waist, making sure to not hurt her shoulder that was still being supported by the sling.

It had been a week since the incident and the media had been going crazy trying to figure out what had happened not only that day but throughout the years Inez Institute was established. They were making up stories or embellishing the truth which I know annoyed Aaliyah but I could tell she was putting on a brave face to pretend it didn't. We had been laying on the down low away from work trying to let things settle but it was as if it was just getting worse.

"Are you okay?" Aaliyah asked me, causing me to look up at her from her shoulder.

"Yeah, why?" I questioned.

"You just seem so dreamy today," she chuckled, using her fingertips to brush up and down the skin of my hip, causing goosebumps to surge all over my body.

"Is that a bad thing?" I questioned, causing her to smile.

"Of course not, you're so cute when you're in your own world," she reassured me, causing me to blush slightly. I couldn't help but let my eyes wonder down to her lips. Her words swirled around in my head, giving me the confidence I needed to lean up and kiss her. I could feel her smile against my lips, as we continued to kiss. Her hand secured to my side, bringing me closer. Without realising it, Aaliyah pulled me over her lap so I was straddling her.

"Ouch," she chuckled against my lips, her other hand letting go of my sweater that she used to pull me up.

"That's you're own fault," I giggled, letting my hands sit either side of her collarbones.

"Someone's a little cocky," she chuckled, her hand finding the small of my back.

"Is that a bad thing?" I questioned, feeling my nerves take over.

"It's sexy," she smirked, leaning towards me to bring our lips back together. Whenever I kissed her it was as if my whole body came alight. My stomach felt like there were animals stampeding through it. Although we had never gone further than this it felt as though my body was going to explode with anticipation as to what could happen next, but I was also scared. I had never been that I intimate with someone and I was so worried I'd do something wrong or Aaliyah wouldn't like the way I looked. I didn't know what to redo to try and get some pointers but I definitely knew watching the L word both scared me and made me wonder why lesbians all date each other? It made me curious as to how experienced Aaliyah was.

The kiss was becoming more intense, was her hand slid up my back, her fingers tracing along my bra clips, causing my breath to catch in my throat.

"You okay?" Aaliyah breathed heavily, her eyes finding mine. I nodded, feeling my heart beat through my chest.

"I'm sorry if I went too far," she spoke softly, her fingers tracing my back.

"N-no it's okay,"

"Are you sure? I don't want to do things if you're not ready-," before she could finish, I pulled her closer, bringing our lips together in a sweet kiss.
