Derek POV

I woke up with Stiles asleep against me. It was nice but there wasn't much room. I unwrapped myself from him getting up. I stretched before starting for the stairs.

"Derek?" I heard quietly making me turn around.

"Yeah, Stiles?"

"Where are you going?" He said, hurt filling his words like ice.

"Upstairs."

"Oh..." He laid back down.

"You can come with me." I told him seeing him fight the urge to smile.

He followed me upstairs nervously. I could hear his heart beat faster than normal. He laid in my bed awkwardly for a few moments.

"Derek..." He whispered.

"Yeah?"

"Thanks for not leaving me out of the pack."

"Stiles, you're like the most important person in this pack." I told him. He was silent. I soon felt him lay his head on my chest.

"I like nice Derek." he mumbled as I rubbed his back.

"Goodnight, Stiles."

Stiles POV

The next morning I woke up on Derek. Like, directly on top of him. Normally, I would of felt bad but he had his arms wrapped around me.

I also didn't know he was awake until he said, "Go away, Scott" making me look to see my best friend in the doorway. Scott smiled before turning and walking away.

"Hi." I mumbled.

"Hi." He said back, keeping his arms wrapped tightly around me.

"You're warm." I said, hearing him huff in amusement.

Derek POV

A few days passed and Scott kept bugging me about the whole 'Stiles being my mate' thing. I won't answer him. He doesn't actually need to know, doesn't need to hear it, at least not until Stiles knows.

There was a knock on the door to my loft. Which was strange because I didn't hear anyone. I opened the door to see Stiles. A very upset Stiles. Immediately I let him in watching him pace around.

"I'm sorry. I-I was on my way home and I feel like I can't breathe or something. I don't know. I pass your house on my way home all the time...a-and I know it sounds stupid but I feel s-safer here than I do at home. I thought m-maybe you could like help me or s-something..." he hiccupped.

I know why he feels safe here, he's my mate, he's supposed to feel safe with me. I debated on telling him as I pull him into a hug. I decide against it, reaching into my pocket handing him a key.

"Here." I said, making him move his head from my shoulder. He raised his eyebrows at me. "It's a key here. Whenever you need to come over, whether or not I'm here, you can." I said, seeing him smile.

"You sure?" I nodded. He grabbed the key from my hand resting his head back on my shoulder. "Thanks, Derek."
