Furtive Admirer

Chapter 39

Alex's insides flinched at the tone in his voice

He passed her and entered the hallway and walked to his room

Alex was purely surprised at his behavior, wasn't he supposed to be in class, why was he back home?

With questions in her mind and concern she followed him to his room, she didn't find him and figured he was in his bathroom

She walked to the single door in the room and opened it, there he was in the middle of his walk-in closet seated on the floor with a box of a first aid kit next to him

A worried face took over Alex's face as she saw Tyler's busted knuckles

"Omg Tyler" she walked and sat on her legs next to him wasting no time as she took his hand in hers to inspect the wounds

"What happened?"

She never saw Tyler as someone who would involve himself in a fight unnecessarily, something must've happened

Noticing no response from him, she looked up only to find him looking in open space

"Tyler"

He withdrew his hand from hers causing Alex to frown, what was wrong with him

It was clear to her Tyler wasn't going to speak, she wasn't happy with the way he was treating her but she didn't have the heart to leave his hands in that condition

Slowly she took his right hand, he had cleaned it already which left her to put spirit on it and cover his knuckles up

Alex worked on his hands silently even though she had questions in her mind she kept them to herself, for a second she did not look at him

When she was done she got up and left, as much as she wanted to defend him, his actions towards her were wrong but she was in no mood to fight

She left the bedroom and went to hers, to say she felt like crying was no lie, Tyler had never been like that towards him

If there was a problem he could've told her, that's one of the reasons she there wasn't she? It wasn't going to hurt for him to share his problems with her

Not wanting to sulk all day I'm her room, she decided to go out and get her mind of what had just happened

She went out and her day was spent on the library and later third willing with Molly and Zack

"Guys I'm right here" Alex sighed

The couple had been making out for a minute it got her questioning herself about why she went there in the first place

"Sorry Lexi she's just-"

"Save it Zack" Alex shook her head as she smiled "I understand you can't stay away from Molly"

Zack got up from the couch and walked to the kitchen

"Did you have class?" Molly asked

"Just got my assignments from Professor Wit and I've done quarter of it already?"

"Wow already? were you bored?" Molly laughed

"You have no idea" Alex shook her head

"Well I might as well give you mine if you're done with yours early" Zack said as he placed some biscuits on the glass table before sitting down on his previous seat

"If you're game at repeating then sure I'm game" Alex shrugged

Molly chuckled

"Come on I know you're smart Lexi" Zack said

"And you're lazy" Alex pointed out

"Are you going to write for me babe" Zack asked as he kissed Molly's temple

"Alright that's it" Alex stood up "I'm going home"

"Come on it was just a peck" Zack laughed

"Well and I'm tired of watching a live making out show for three hours"

Seeing them that way made her miss Tyler but also reminded her of how he treated her in the morning

What saddened her was she never found any texts or calls from him during the day

She didn't want to go back there, but she had to face him eventually right

"I'll see you guys tomorrow"

"Alrightyyy" Zack said

"Girly" Alex narrowed her eyes at him as she walked to the door Molly trailing behind

"We're showing Jean around tomorrow" Molly said as Alex exited through the front door

"Wasn't she shown around on Monday and yesterday?"

"Yeah but not all the cool places" Molly shrugged

"Alright" Alex smiled "I'll tag along"

"Good" Molly smiled "see you tomorrow then"

Alex nodded as she walked away, she was glad she had eaten already. She planned on going straight to her room to sleep immediately she arrived

Indeed that was what she did, finding no one on the living room made things easier for her

She went straight to her room took a shower and changed into a short silky night dress and laid in her covers

Bliss took over her body immediately her head laid on her soft pillow, it only indicated that she was exhausted with the walking she had done during the day

Thirty minutes had passed when she heard her door creek open and light footsteps, her bed dipped and she felt her covers lift for a second before she felt her body pulled into a hard chest

She opened her eyes

"I'm sorry"

She turned and looked up into his eyes, she placed her fingers on his cheek

"Will you tell me what's wrong then?" She whispered

He shook his head

"Don't you think" she whispered "that it's unfair we've been happy this week together and now your sad alone?"

Tyler slowly blinked as he looked at her, what he had done would hurt her a lot, what he had done would cause unnecessary fights

He regretted beating up her brother but Angelo deserved every second of his beating, he wasn't sorry about that

"Let this go baby" he whispered

"But Ty"

"Shhh" he put his forefinger on her lips

"Let's sleep" he softly said as he put his arm on her waist and closed his eyes

Snuggling into him, she let what happened in the morning slide and enjoyed his warmth
