This is the second in a three-part series called The Reporter Series, named thus because the main protagonists are, well, reporters. Original, I know. It's best to read them in order. The first two books are almost standalones, but there are cameos from Book 1 in this one. And the last brings all the characters together, so you definitely need 1 and 2 before you read that one.
This was originally posted on my main account here - Rubberduckiez84, now EmilyCKalka - but after taking down all my fanfiction from there to focus solely on original fiction, I created this account just to repost it all. However, as I was getting ready to post here, I noticed the stories needed some heavy editing. So if you've read previous versions, this one is a bit different. I didn't change anything plot-wise - mostly just cleaned up dialogue and POV issues.
Also, I never got around to posting Book 3 on my old account, so in for a treat. You'll get all three stories, newly edited.

When Mara Winslow finally makes it onto the crime desk at The Seattle Times, she is sent off to cover her first big story - a spat of mysterious deaths happening in the forest surrounding Forks. However, the more she digs into it and the more she gets to know the locals both in town and on the nearby reservation in La Push, the more she realizes that the world is not as black and white as she once thought it was. There is far more lurking in the shadows than even she could dream of.
Book 3: Destined
Mara and Embry are trying to settle into living together when their new neighbors bring about all sorts of unexpected changes. Changes that bring some of the wolves and Cullens back to their doorstep. What's more, it seems that their life is about to collide with Cecily and Demetri's, more specifically, Demitri's past.
