"He?" Asked Free disbelievingly.

"He gets stronger with every fight, even Shu Kurenai and Lui Shirosagi couldn't avoid my calculations so why him." She squeezed the bey tighter. Free grabbed her hand.

"Wakari calm down or you'll hurt yourself." Waki threw her head up and looked at Free's silhouette. Free noticed how her colorless eyes glittered gold for a moment.

"Is everything all right?" He asked.

"Huh?" Waki looked perplexed at his silhouette. "I'm fine." She replied in her usual tired voice. Free let go of her hand. An awkward silence ensued.

"Hey Free." Waki broke the silence. "How about a battle?"

A hint of amusement appeared in Free's blank eyes. "Come on, let's play to the first point." He helped Waki to the opposite side of the arena. Both had their launchers ready. Waki calculated the odds of the outcome by looking at Free's silhouette.

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

"Let it rip!" They both said, and launched their beys. Waki's eyes gleamed gold for a moment. Both beys descended into the arena. Fafnir immediately took center stage, while Wyrm circled around the stadium.

"Did you choose stamina mode and clockwise rotation?" Asked Free with interest. "Do you want to fight in my own element?"

"You could say that." Replied Waki, calculating Fafnir's actions. Wyrm rushed towards Fafnir. Wyrm began to attack Fafnir, but he deflected all of his attacks.

"Hmm." Waki pondered. Looking at the energy of the beyes spinning in the dark. Considering the speed at which Fafnir spins then.

"Fafnir!" Said Free and yellow energy surrounded him and the golden dragon Fafnir appeared. "Drain Spin!"

"Wyrm!" Shouted Waki and she was surrounded by golden energy and a white-turquoise dragon appeared. "Royal Flux!"

The Wyrm glowed a turquoise-gold light and dashed toward Fafnir. The two beys collided, causing a blinding white light to blind the entire stadium. There was the sound of an explosion. Wakari shuddered from the sudden pain that pierced her body and fell to her knees.

"Wakari" Free ran up to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Replied Waki trying to catch her breath. Free looked at the arena where the blown up parts of the Wyrm and Fafnir lay.

A simultaneous explosion. Free thought.

"Then we have a draw." He said without emotion.

"That should be the outcome." Waki said, and Free looked at her. "Only an explosive ending wasn't part of the calculations."

"Are you sure you're okay?" Asked Free and Waki nodded.

"At least one of us has to show up for practice or we'll have to listen to lectures from the Trad again." Waki said and Free helped her up.

"I'll walk you out." Free said, taking Waki's hand and leading her to the exit of the forest. They walked in complete silence until they emerged from the forest and approached the BC sol building. As they got closer to the training building, Free noticed someone lying on the ground near the entrance to the gym.

"Isn't that Valt?" He asked without emotion. Waki looked and saw a small blue silhouette in the midst of the darkness.

"Looks like it." She replied.

"Can you go further on your own?" Asked Free. Waki nodded and clung to the wall of the building. She watched as Free's silhouette walked away from her until it disappeared into the darkness. She sighed and walked along the wall closer to the blue silhouette of Valt, who was trying to catch his breath.
