"Can I just get a large cold brew with two shots of espresso, please?" You didn't even have to look up from my register to know that you were taking an order from another coffee sucking millennial who didn't get enough sleep last night.

You couldn't judge though.

"Woah, rough night?" You chuckled at the girl's voice, raspy and still fresh from the morning. It was weirdly attractive though. You kind of have a thing for morning voices.

"Yeah. I need to wake up." She responded as you tapped away on my screen, placing her order into the system.

"This much caffeine is going to make your hands shake." You quipped, continuing the friendly banter before you looked up, meeting her eyes.

Woah.

"I've learned to control shaky hands. Not from coffee though." She laughed, quickly noticing the innuendo she made, however unintentional. "Sorry, I didn't mean for that to sound so sexual."

"I've known you for two seconds and you're already making sex jokes." Her cheeks flushed a light pink, obviously flustered. "Can I get your name?"

"Oh- um it's Daisy. Like the flower." She spat, nearly tripping over her own sentences.

"Ok Daisy like the flower, can I get you anything else?" You poked at her introduction. It was kind of cute.

"A blueberry muffin and your number."

Bold.

"Ok then Daisy like the flower. That'll be right out for you." You couldn't help but grin as you completed her order, greeting the next customer in line as she stepped away. "Good morning ma'am, what can-"

"Grande iced caramel macchiato." She barked, not even looking up from her phone as she interrupted you.

"I'm sorry, we don't do grandes but I can get you a medium." You rolled your eyes. It's not like she could see it anyway. "What kind of milk can I get for you?"

"The one it comes with." She scoffed, as if you had asked her the most offensive question she had ever heard in her entire life.

"Sure thing. That comes out to 4.50, ma'am."

"Whatever." She tossed a 5 dollar bill at you, which you grabbed while simultaneously trying to maintain your professionalism. You grabbed the cash, putting it in the register and starting on the drinks.

You brewed the four shots of espresso, two for Daisy like the flower and two for the caramel macchiato. Waiting for the espresso, you poured ice into both cups along with vanilla syrup and milk in one and straight cold brew in the other. When the espresso finished, you poured two shots into the cold brew and two into the macchiato, stirring them and throwing a lid on both.

"Medium iced caramel macchiato and a large caffeine overdose." You called out, sliding the drinks onto the counter where you saw Daisy smile at your jab at her order. As the lady went to grab her coffee, she grunted in disgust.

"I wanted this hot." She shoved the coffee back towards you, making you spill the coffee on the counter.

Daisy took note of this, raising her eyebrow at the woman's rudeness.

"Alright let me fix that for you." You grabbed a washcloth, swiping the liquid off the counter while shooting Daisy a small grin. "I didn't forget your muffin, don't worry. Give me a second."

She laughed, not minding the wait. She liked watching you work, anyway.

You got back to work, remaking the macchiato, hot this time. As you brought it out, the lady rolled her eyes, snatching the cup from you.

"Good to know you can hear." She mumbled taking the drink, taking a sip from it.

"Have a nice day, ma'am." You added monotonously, hoping that she'd leave.

"I'm never coming here again. You've lost a customer."

"I'm devastated." You rolled your eyes, as she gasped, turning on her heels and exiting angrily. You couldn't help but laugh as she walked out the door.

"Geez, do you get that a lot?" She walked up to the counter, leaning against it slightly.

"More often than you'd think. You get used to it."

"Man, I'm sorry about that, then."

"Eh, it's no biggie. You just have to focus on the good ones." You winked at her, causing her to swipe her hair out of her face nervously. It was kind of funny that it didn't take much to make her flustered.

You grabbed a small box from the counter, opened the pastry case and grabbed out a blueberry muffin and a half dozen cookies. Closing the box, you grabbed a Sharpie, scribbling on the outside.

"A blueberry muffin, and a couple extra treats." You smiled slyly as she grinned, seeing what you had written on the box. "I expect to hear from you later?"

"No doubt about it." She winked, but this time it was you who was flustered.
