The Fires of Earth

The world began with the four elements in a dragon to represent each one. The air dragon lived among the clouds, the water dragon lived in the ocean, the Earth's dragon lived on the land, but the fire dragon did not have a place to live.

"You cannot live here, you will turn my home to ash," Earth has said.
"You cannot live here, you will turn my home to smoke," Air had said.
"You cannot live here, your fire would be extinguished, I am sorry brother," Water had said.

Determined to find a home, Fire flew to the bare mountain his brother had made, not wanting to burn his brother's plants, and stared to dig. He was halfway through the mountain by the time Earth had noticed.

"Brother, what are you doing?" He asked.
Fire paused from his work and looked up at his brother, " I am making myself a home," He replied.
"No! You will burn my home!" Earth exclaimed, "Sisters help me!"

With his flames rising, fire used all his money to dig deeper until the ground opened up into a cavern with tunnels that spread under the land.

"Here will be my home," He declared as he expanded his flames, melting the rock into lava.

And when the cave could no longer hold the liquid fire, it exploded through the top of the mountain in the first volcano was made. Smoke rode into the air, the earth burned, and the oceans boiled as Fire came up through the mountain.

"Brother, what have you done?!" Air roared, as dark clouds formed in the sky behind her.
"My home! I told you it would burn!" Earth exclaimed, as the land shook and cracked.
"Brother, why?" Water asked, concerned for all of her siblings.
"Since Air and Earth would not let me live in their homes and I could not live in yours, I made my own," Fire answer.

As a land shook and cracked, more lava came up to the surface, forming ocean vents, new lands, and more volcanoes. Thunder boomed, lightning flashed, win roared, and the rain started to pour, cooling the new lands and blowing the smoke away.

"Earth, Air look!" Water exclaimed, trying to calm her siblings.

Earth and air turned and saw the new lands and clean air. Earth flew down to the new land and where he landed grass started to sprout. Shocked, he started to fly low across the lands and watched as life grew on the new land.

"See brother, my fire may destroy but it also paves the way for new life, and look at what you and Aaron did to the lamb brother if you think my fire is the only thing that destroys," Fire stated.

The land was broken, trees were ripped from the ground, rocks were smashed into the ground, and lightning burned the earth.

The rain slowed to a stop and Air whispered, "I am sorry for pushing you aside brother, we should have helped you find a home."
"Yes we should have, please forgive us," Earth agreed.
Fire smiled and said, "Tis okay, you two were only looking out for your homes and the life that they give."
"Now our planet is complete with a piece of all of us to keep each other in check," Water declared.

And with that the siblings flew back to their homes. Fire flew to his volcano, happy to have a place to call his own.
