"By the power vested in me..I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride..."
I clapped my hands upon seeing Ate Padyang kissed by her husband. I smiled and unknowingly my eyes drifted to the groom mens. I instantly saw his black eyes pierced in my way.
I forgot to mention that he wore a contact lense to hide his real ones, even though that happened. He still screams charm and so much appeal that I saw women drooling over him with a presentation of attraction and familiarization in their eyes.
Iniwas ko ang tingin ko sa kanya nang halos hindi ko na makaya ang pagkabog ng puso ko. Napatingin ako kay Ate Ericka na nakangiti na lamang sa harapan. Nagtaka ako kung bakit hindi siya nanibago na wala ng mask si Max.
She glanced at me when she noticed my stares. "Ano 'yun?"
"Hindi ka ba nagulat Ate?"
"Na ano?" she raised her brows.
Napatingin ulit ako sa pwesto ni Max ngunit hindi ko na siya masulyapan ng maayos dahil sa mga taong dumadaan para magpunta ng altar.
"Ay magpipicture na pala! Magpapicture muna tayo!" Biglang sinabi ni Ate at hinila ako kila Ate Padyang.
Wala na akong oras para tanungin si Ate dahil sa maraming pictures na nakukuha sa amin. Halos hindi ko na nga makausap rin si Claudius dahil hinaharangan kami ng maraming tao.
Sa kalagitnaan ng kalmado kong aura ay ang may nag rambulan sa puso. I am extremely worried about Claudius' safety upon knowing that he's not wearing his mask! He's quite famous in the city. Hindi ko lang alam sa probinsya but news can spread like a wildfire.
"Penelope, kumain ka na.."
Halos hindi ko magalawa ang aking pagkain habang hinahanap ng mga mata ko si Claudius sa tumpukan ng mga grom mens. I was slightly stomping my feet on the ground because of my uneasiness.
"Penelope, may chicken curry dito oh."
Bigla akong tumayo ng nahagilap ko si Max na kinakausap ang foreigner groom ni Ate. Nakangiti pa ngayon na parang walang problema na iniisip!
Putangina ang kaligtasan mo, Max!
"Penelope! Saan ka pupunta?!" Hindi ko na masagot ang tawag ni Ate ng dire-diretso ang lakat ko hanggang sa makapalapit ako sa harapan nila.
"Yes...I was also planning that. You can give me a call in your accord if you desire to be one of the boards.." Claudius said lightly. He chuckled, his visible long dimple showing.
Nakita ko rin ang ngiti ng asawa ni Ate Padyang. "Of course! Who am I to reject your offer?" He joked.
"Excuse me.." sabi ko sa gitna ng pag-uusap nila. Kaagad na dumapo sa akin ang pareho nilang mga mata.
I smiled at Victor. Asawa ni Ate Padyang.
"Can I borrow him for a moment?" I asked kindly.
Nanlaki ang mga mata niya at binalik ang tingin kay Claudius. "Is this the woman you've been talking to? Your girlfriend?" Naramdaman ko ang unti-unting pag-haplos ng mga kamay ni Claudius sa likod ko. With my brows slightly furrowed I looked at him. He has this proud soft smile on his lips while answering Victor's question.
"The one and only..none can replace." He said with his Australian accent.
Victor's smirked but chuckled afterwards."Hope you're the next to wed! I will surely come with my wife! Nice meeting you, Penelope.."
I smiled a bit distracted by Claudius' hands on my waist. "You too Victor, thank you for inviting me to your wedding.."
"Sure! I'll be the one thanking you next.." He chuckled.
