I giggled, attempting to bite into the sandwich, but it was super hot.

Ethan untied his apron. "Can I go now?"

"Alright. But we need you back here at eight."

"I'll be here. Love you, dad."

"Love you buddy", he kissed his head. "Amanda, I hope you enjoy your time here. Come by anytime!"

"Thanks, sir. It was super nice to meet you."

"Bye Mr. Wood!" Christine said.

"Bye, kids!"

Ethan joined us and we all began to walk down the road.

"How long has your family worked there?", I asked.

"For as long as I've lived. My Dad brought the truck when I was two. From then it's been sandwiches for dinner like every day. That steak right there, I made it. What do you think?"

"Dude, it's amazing."

"Thank you. Christine can't get enough." he glanced at her.

"Yeah, it's pretty much the only reason we hang out," she said.

I smirked.

"Does Sam work there too?"

"I work the day shifts and Sammy works the weekends."

"Where is Sam?" Christine asked before taking a bite into her burrito.

"I don't know. Probably home."

"You're such a great brother," she mumbled.

"Thank you. Anyway, how was school?"

"Garbage."

"Hey Amanda, I bet you're happy the rumors about you and Mckenzie have died down huh?"

"Oh, sooo glad. I could not handle being the center of attention."

"That sucks. I was rooting for you two."

I snorted. "I couldn't be with a guy like that. Not really my type, and I don't think I'm his."

"What is your type?"

"Dude, stop asking her questions.", Christine hit his arm.

"Would you date me?" Ethan asked.

I raised an eyebrow.

"Okay, we're going", Christine held my hand.

I laughed.

"Wait up", Ethan called. "You guys coming Friday?"

"Coming where?" I asked.

"Wanna see Ethan run across a field with a ball in his hand?" Christine said.

Ethan rolled his eyes and nudged her arm.

"What?" I smirked.

"He has a football game."

"Yes! And I want you guys to come."

"We'll think about it." Christine linked arms with me again, as we began to walk away.

"Don't speak for Amanda!" Ethan followed us. "She has her own voice. Amanda, you gotta come, you'll love it."

"Okay. Sure! Not like I have anything else to do."

"Yes!", Ethan ran around, and stood in front of Christine. "What about you? Wanna come to my game?"

She rolled her eyes and pushed his chest.
