**DRAKE'S POV**
Nine months. Nine months since Blade had been taken. Nine months since I'd last seen him. Nine months since he'd gotten pregnant. The thought that he could be giving birth at any second sent me into an automatic fit of panic. So I tried not to think about it too much.
Shockingly enough, Matt, Andy and Ashley had gotten a lot more out of the street name I gave them than I thought. Within a month, they'd found what they were sure was the building that Blade was being held at. "It's an old abandoned middle school," Ashley explained to us. "Right next to a high school that's still in use."
"Wouldn't somebody realize that there was a pregnant person being held captive by a bunch of nut jobs in the building next to them?" Ashlyn had asked skeptically.
"Not necessarily," Andy shook his head. "It's been uninhabited for years. The county doesn't use it for anything because the structure has been ruled 'unsafe'."
Matt nodded his agreement. "It's sure to be heavily guarded, so I'm assuming you two are prepared and willing to fight?"
Ashlyn and I glanced at each other before nodding. I was willing to kill the president if it meant getting Blade back. "How long do you think we have?"
"If what you and Ashlyn say is correct, the only reason they're keeping him alive is because they're afraid killing him before the baby is born will only make it deadlier," Andy's expression was grim. "So I'm guessing we have until the baby is born. After that, they'll both be dead within minutes."
"So, where is this abandoned middle school, anyway?" Ashlyn asked.
"In some little town not too far from here."
"Then what the hell are we waiting for?" I stood and started toward the door of the hotel room without waiting for the others to follow me. "Let's go kill the shit out of some vampires."

It was worse than we had thought it would be. Even in the dark that had fallen during our drive, we could clearly see the shadows moving in front of the building's entrance. Hooded figures wearing black robes. They moved with unnatural grace, even for vampires. Terror sent a cold rush through my veins as I remembered how close I had come to death at the hands of these people. But then I thought of Blade, starving, cold, alone and scared in some dark little room. Pregnant and ready at any given moment to give birth to a child. MY child. That image roused an intense rage inside my heart. I wanted nothing more than to leap out of this car and shatter every bone in those vampires' bodies.
"There's more than you said there'd be, Andy," I heard Matt whisper, the slightest thread of panic in his voice. "A lot more."
"I know, I know," Andy sounded scared too. I turned around and saw from the faces around me that they all were.
"We're just gonna have to fight a lot harder," Ashley said through his teeth.
Matt stared at him in disbelief. "We can't go out there! We'll get slaughtered!"
"Maybe not," Ashlyn piped up. I could tell she was trying to be encouraging, but the tone of her voice wasn't convincing at all.
"Besides, do you have a better idea?" Ashley hissed, turning to shoot Matt a glare. "Your son's mate is in there, Matt. Or do you not care that your son might try the same thing Andy did when somebody decided to rip him away from the man he loved?"
What was he talking about? Did he mean my dad? I looked back and forth between Ashley and Matt, who had locked glares in a stare-down so intense, you could practically feel the care heating with the mutual rage. The way Ashley was talking, and the way he was looking at my dad with a hatred that went far beyond being natural enemies, it almost sounded like Andy and Matt...no, I was NOT letting myself finish that thought.
Andy whipped around and shot both of them a look. "Both of you, enough! Knock it the fuck off before I make you myself!"
Ashley and Matt glanced at him, then looked away from each other. "Sorry," they both muttered.
"Thank you," he huffed before turning back to the window. "If there are this many guards, then Blade must be very close to giving birth. They'd want to make sure nothing interfered."
"Guess it's do or die," Matt muttered.
"Exactly. It's now or never for us."
"Well why are we still sitting in here?" I demanded. "Let's get out there and kill some shit!"
**BLADE'S POV**
The pain was excruciating. I knew as soon as the first wave hit me what was happening. I screamed, sending three hooded figures rushing into the room. They were gathered around me in seconds, yelling words I couldn't make out through the pounding in my ears. I gritted my teeth and tried not to scream, but failed miserably. I'm not gonna go into details, mostly because I blacked out for a few minutes. When I came to again, the first thing I heard was the panicked shouts of girls, and the sickening crunch of bones breaking. The yells were abruptly cut off, and I vaguely wondered what was going on. But then another onslaught of pain hit me, and every thought but one was swept from my mind. I wanted this agony to end, I wanted to die.
And then, for a moment, I thought I'd gotten my wish. Because, though the pain didn't stop, an all too familiar voice cried out, coming from directly beside me. "Blade?!"
No, it couldn't be. He was dead. But when I opened my eyes, there was no denying it. I'd have known those gorgeous blue eyes anywhere. "D-Drake?" I stuttered, gaping at him. "B-but you're...y-you're...am I dead?"
Drake smiled at me and shook his head. "No, baby you're not dead."
"B-but you were-" I cut off and screamed again as another wave of pain crashed down on me.
I think I might've blacked out again, because the next thing I heard was the sound of small, violent crying. I opened my eyes, and saw Drake was holding a small, bloody baby in his arms. It wailed and thrashed, but Drake didn't seem to mind in the slightest. He looked up, and saw me staring at him. "Blade...." he trailed off, seeming at a loss for words.
        "I-I'm sorry," I stuttered. "I...I was...."
"I know," he leaned down and kissed me softly, a smile on his perfect lips. "You don't have to explain, angel."
I sat up slowly, waiting for some violent feeling of nausea or dizziness to send me crashing back to the floor again, but it didn't. "How?" I asked, staring at him with wide eyes. I still couldn't get over the fact that he was even alive, let alone that he'd known I was pregnant.
"Does it matter?" Drake smiled at me.
I shook my head. "No," I replied, kissing him again forcefully, drinking in the feel of his lips beneath mine. "I love you, Drake."
        "I love you too Blade."
