Polished and Shined

An Ode

This is an Ode to a friendship that never was;

I liked you a lot
But didn't want to make it obvious
I fantasied a lot
About how we would have fun together.

I never had a bestfriend then
Because I kept that space for you
I never shared my secrets with anyone
I wanted it to be you.

I wanted us to be closer than sisters
I wanted us to be bestfriends goals
Zodiac signs says we would do great together as besties
But astrology is just a theory.

We were close, but I wanted more
I wanted to be your sister from another mother.

So I wrote this poem today
As an ode to a friendship that never was.
