The meeting

It was another busy Saturday night at the 24/7 Barbecue stop that Maria worked. She was so tired of the place but she knew she couldn't quit, despite the meager salary she was paid.
She sat down behind the counter next to Mia, her only friend at work and gave her a slight frown
"How come you're not working tables tonight anyway" She asked while massaging her feet
"The boss is in love with me" Mia answered laughing and passing her friend a glass of water
"I'm never that lucky" Maria mumbled and drank the water thirstily. Her boss would have her head if he saw her sitting and talking instead of working but she couldn't help it, her feet were killing her.
"Hello ma'am, can you take my order? Nobody's come to my table"
Maria whipped her head back and gasped, the man standing before her was gorgeous!
He was so tall that she suddenly felt small, his blue eyes looked like she could drown in them if she kept looking and his smile, oh his smile did something to her stomach.
"Uhm are you okay?" He asked chuckling.
She felt the heat rise up to her cheeks and cursed herself for being so obvious
"Uhm" she cleared her throat and tried to talk without stammering again "Urrgh I'm so dumb" she thought to herself. She could hear Mia laughing and swore she was going to kill her after work.
"Yes,yes I can take your order. What would you like?" She said giving him a small smile
"Oh huh this is my first time here, I don't know what's good"
"How bout today's special? It's spaghetti and meatballs. I'm sure you'd like it"
"Oookay"
"Where's your table?"
"Table six"
"Okay. Do you need anything else?" She raised her head and found him staring at her with a little smirk on his face
"Just a glass of water, thank you"
"Okay. I'll be right there"
She watched him walk back to his table and turned to see Mia grinning at her
"Don't say it"
"Say what" Mia answered sweetly
She rolled her eyes and walked to the kitchen, the handsome stranger still on her mind
