Eternally ephemeral

Beauty, life, light, love, hope,

Everything is eternally ephemeral.

They will never heal the wounds

That life and pain have stabbed upon you.

They are eternally ephemeral,

Here to numb the excruciating pain,

To cover it up,

To blind you in lies, in what's not true.

They aren't true.

They're just what everyone hopes to have.

They'll veil the pain and blood,

Cover it up with a fog of beauty.

Only it is eternally ephemeral,

The mist will part, the love will leave.

And then you'll finally see

That they haven't healed anything.

You'll feel it with more pain when they have veiled,

Discover with a broken heart

That nothing's gone.

All has stayed, because pain never leaves.

Hurt is eternally eternal.

Light is eternally ephemeral.
