AT THE PARTY...

Kol was standing by the bar, drinking, when he could sense her: Rebekah. No matter how much he hated it, the two shared this odd connection. Even without seeing her, he could always sense her presence. It was like some weird sibling telepathy. Maybe it was because they were closest to each other than their other siblings.

"Good evening, brother. You look substantial," Rebekah said.

Kol placed his cup on the counter, and faced her. "Why, thank you dear sister. You don't look too bad yourself," he said.

Rebekah blinked back, not expecting a compliment in return.

Kol's eyes searched around the room for a particular someone. Thank the heavens for his vampire senses because there were tons of people at this place, so it would be hard to recognize anyone, especially since everyone was wearing masks..

Rebekah could sense his eagerness and took a deeper thought into his wanted findings and realized: "Let me guess; you're looking for Bonnie?"

"Yeah. Where is she?" Kol asked.

"You're asking the wrong person," Rebekah said. "I have no clue where your girlfriend is."

"One, Bonnie is not my girlfriend-"

"You wish she would be," Rebekah mumbled.

"Two, why would you just leave her astray in a place she isn't familiar with?"

"Astray?" Rebekah questioned with narrowed eyes. "That's a bit dramatic, brother."

Kol rolled his eyes in annoyance. "You know what I mean," he said.

"Relax, i'm sure she's fine," Rebekah said. "She's nineteen and a witch. She is more than able to protect herself."

Kol opened his mouth to comment on that, but hesitated. He refused to use the time he could use trying to find Bonnie, on arguing with Rebekah. So, he walked away. Rebekah smiled, downing her glass of wine as she watched her brother walk away. It was almost shocking for her to see Kol so worried about a girl, but she found it cute that her brother was finally falling in love.

Soon, Kol found Bonnie in the crowd and approached. She was looking around like a lost puppy desperate to find their owner. Even with the mask on, he knew who she was. He couldn't help but admire her beauty. Other than the masquerade ball the Mikaelsons held in Mystic Falls, he had never seen her so dolled-up

Bonnie stood there, quietly, uncomfortable with his silence. "Earth to Kol," she said, waving her hand in his face.

Kol snapped out of his thoughts, "Sorry, I was thinking about something. You look beautiful tonight."

"Wow, so I don't look beautiful every other day?" She questioned. Immediately, Kol denied her assumptions, "No, that's not what I meant. You look beautiful everyday, you're beautiful in general."

Bonnie laughed, "I'm just kidding, I know what you mean. Thanks, you look beautiful as well." It was so weird seeing Kol become all shy over a girl, which showed that what he shared with Bonnie was something special. Kol chuckled, "Thank you."

That's when Bonnie realized she had just called him beautiful. To be honest, Kol didn't mind.

"Sorry, I meant to say handsome. You look handsome," She said, a bit jumpy. Kol couldn't help but smile at how nervous she had gotten. Although she had only been in New Orleans for only eight days now, Kol couldn't help but become even more infatuated with the young witch. Her bravery to leave all she knew in Mystic Falls, and join a family who she wasn't exactly on the best terms with, made him hold her utmost respect.
