Ashton's POV:

Dr. Dawson exchanged his phone number with us, so that we could call him incase of an emergency. He gave us the address of the Hospital and wrote us a letter, authorising us permission to meet Thomas Horton.

He told us that he emailed the hospital before hand but the letter was incase they didn't receive the email yet. Kate had gone downstairs to get coffee for us as we had a long day ahead of us.

"She still doesn't know?" Dr. Dawson questioned me. I shook my head as a response and carried on reading through Thomas Horton's file.

Poor man. This guy was tortured, starved and even occasionally molested. No wonder he's got extreme anger issues, he's had anger building up over all over these years.

I skimmed past the paragraph of ways he harmed himself, as I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it. I got to the page where his acts towards his foster siblings were described.

'At the age of 15, drowned 4 year old, Holly Simmons, in her own bath and hung 10 year old, Joshua Simmons, with a noose around his neck from the upstairs landing. Acts committed in response to horrid treatment given by foster parents.' I read, cringing at the horrible things he did to those children. I skipped the description of the horrendous murders he committed on innocent civilians, knowing that they would be even worse.

I made the papers into a neat pile and put it back into the folder as Kate walked into the room. She gave me my coffee and sat down on the couch next to me.

"Is that his file?" Kate questioned me.

"Yeah, I wouldn't advise you to read it though" I warned her, remembering what I read about.

"That bad?" She said, taking a sip of her coffee.

"Drowned his four year old foster sister in her bath and hung his foster brother from the upstairs landing" I said, straight to the point.

"Oh shit, this guy is crazy" she cursed.

"He did have an awful childhood though" I said, slightly defending him.

"Still no reason to kill innocent people" she stated. I nodded at her and took a sip of my coffee. The hot liquid, burning my throat as I swallowed.

"You guys should get going. It'll take you just over an hour and half to get there and when you do I want you to inform me. Also call me if there are any other complications" Dr. Dawson said, picking up the note and handing it to Kate.

She took it into her hand, folded it and put it in her pocket. I stood up, quickly downing my coffee and throwing the cup in the bin. Kate did the same as she brushed past me to get to the bin.

"See you later Dr. Dawson" Kate said, giving him a small wave.

"Please, call me Rick" he said.

"Rick. Bye Rick" she said, testing the name out the first time.

"Bye you two, and be safe" he said, waving at us.

We started walking down the corridor from Rick's office. As we walked out of the main door, past the main desk, I noticed that it has started raining.

We both made a dash for the car, me unlocking it when we were a few metres away from it. We both got in, me in the drivers seat and Kate in the passenger seat.

As we started driving, I thought about stopping for food, as I was feeling quite hungry.

"Do you want to pop into the drive-through McDonald's for a bite to eat?" I said as I typed in the address that Rick had given us into the sat-nav.
