-Camilo's pov-
A lengthy yawn escapes my mouth as I stumble into the dining room for breakfast. I don't bother covering my mouth, my family has gotten used to my home manners.
"Goodmorning Camilo," I'm greeted by Abuela's voice. I scanned the room and saw Erika at the table along with my family. She's happily chatting with my mama. I blush when she giggles at my unsurpressed afro. Let's just say I was having a bad hair day.
"So," Abuela stands up, causing the table to hush, "I've invited Erika for breakfast this morning if you all haven't noticed already. As we have all taken a liking to her, especially our lovely Camilo."
I duck my head when she finishes it off with that, feeling rather abashed about the situation.
This is actually happening now, this is real.
Abuela is setting me up with a girl I barely know.
Dolores is concerned about my love life.
And I'm... distressed?
If I dated Erika, then the family would be proud of me. But I would never have Amira.
But if I didn't, everyone would be dissapointed. But maybe Amira would be mine... maybe?
My thoughts were jumbled up, all over the place. As I took a seat at the table, I did the only thing I could.
'Princesa, I need some help.'
'Well duh, finally time you realised,' she scoffed.
'No, ugh. Not mental help, I mean my friend is having some issues and wants my advice.'
'And you want advice from me, to give to them?'
'Yes,' It's not exactly easy to have a conversation in your head, while also focusing on the people around you. So I was unaware of Erika's gaze on me from the opposite side of the table.
'Whats the issue then?'
I couldn't tell her the exact story, she'd catch on too fast. So I changed a couple details, 'well, he has this lover. But his mother doesn't know about her, and is trying to set him up with a different girl he barely knows. He loves the first girl, but doesn't want to dissapoint his mother. So he's kind of in a tricky situation.'
'Oh, that's unfortunate. Well, I think he should tell his mother about the girl he's in love with. If he just said that he didn't want to be with this other girl, then his mum would probably assume that he doesn't want to be in a relationship at all, and force the arranged thing. It's stupid, but that's how those types of parents think.'
'... alright thanks princesa.'
'Anytime guapo!' Her delightful voice earns a chuckle from me, but out loud.
"Camilo's giggling to himself, he's probably thinking about how in love he is!" Mirabel teases me. I elbow her side.
I am actually, just not with the person you think.
"Ugh, I wish Isa was here to help me tease you," Mirabel whined. Isa would only stay at casita one or zero nights a week, since she now had a separate house with her wife. It wasn't the largest house ever, since neither of them really wanted children. But I liked running around in it with Antonio while Isa yelled at us.
