-Camilo's pov-
I dragged her out to an abandoned barn out in the woods, it took me a couple hours to dust the place earlier, but her reaction was worth it.
'For my Princesa ❤' a large banner read, held up from either side of the second floor's railing. The barn's windows were barricaded shut, blocking any light. So to dimly illuminate the place, I'd set up two rows of candles as a walkway. Plenty of romantic decorations were lining the walls, and coloured heart shaped cut outs stringing down from the ceiling.
Amira gaped from utter disbelief. I chuckled, propping her jaw back up delicately with my hand.
"Milo, I will never understand how you manage to come up with something unique for every single holiday. Also birthdays," she elbows my side playfully.
"Well, I'm just the type to go above and beyond for those I love," I answer confidently.
"I also can't understand how you'll continuously pull this stuff off, yet still insist that we do nothing on your birthday," I open my mouth to retort, but she beats me to it, "And yes, cuddling in my bed all day does count as nothing."
I roll my eyes, personally, holding her for an entire day, and night sounded like an ideal birthday. I didn't want some dramatic party like Abuela and Mama insist, I just wanted Amira.
Is that too much to ask for?
I hadn't even realised until just now, but she made my ruana to match with her.
Amira wore a gorgeous pink and red dress, themed to suit valentines. Along with a gorgeous ribbon in her hair to tie it all together. (you'll see it later).
"You, uh... Ahem," I cough into my fist, feeling flustered, "You look gorgeous, princesa."
She ducks her face out of sight, did I say something wrong?
-Amira's pov-
I feel my cheeks burning up at his compliment, hiding my face out of his view.
What are you doing Amira, you don't usually get like this!?
I subconsciously shake my head, frustrated. I feel a hand on my shoulder, "Princesa? Is something wrong?"
"No, not at all. This is perfect Camilo, everything just right," I shoot him a warm grin, turning my attention back to my surroundings.
I spot a record player hiding in the shadows, at the corner of the room.
So that's what you're planning Camilo, sneaky one, aren't you?
Basically reading my mind, he takes me by the hand into the centre of the room. Before dropping my hand, scrambling over to the record player I'd seen. I watch as he very delicately sets up the slow music, running back over to me.
"May I do you the honour of a dance?" He smirks, placing a kiss on the back of my wrist.
"Of course guapo," I giggled, wrapping my arms around his neck. In turn, he positions his hold on me at my waist, beginning to sway slowly when we're ready.
He's not holding me obsessively, he's not gripping onto my waist like I'll just disappear if he let's go. He's holding onto me with such gentleness, it feels like his hands aren't even there.
His eyes are the brightest thing in the room, the forest colours twinkling at me affectionately.
They're on me.
His eyes are on me.
It's almost as if we're the only people in the world right now, just him and me, just him and me.
Him and me.
-Camilo's pov-
Me and her.
Why can't it always be like this?
She's looking at me with the most adorable grin plastered on. Those lips.
I wish I could just kiss you.
I wish I could hold your hand in public, showing the world that you're mine.
I wish you were mine.
But for now, this is enough.
You're enough.
I fee tears building up, not because I'm upset, but because I wish I could dance with her until the end of time.
I'm so happy right now Amira, even I can't understand how you make me feel.
'Are you tearing up?' She giggles.
'No, I don't cry,' even I knew that was an obvious lie.
'It's okay Milo, I think this is dreamy too," she tilts her head, remaining eye contact.
'You do? Okay, that's a relief. That was literally the goal of-'
'If you keep talking you'll ruin it,' she cuts me off, hearing that I willingly shut up.
God, you're perfect.
I discreetly pull her closer to me, she leans her chin to rest on my shoulder. I feel her body ease up in my hold.
-Amira's pov-
"You're perfect," he whispers, just near my ear. I feel his hot breath hitting my neck, sending fuzzy shivers down my spine.
He begins humming quietly along to the slow music playing in the background. I'm not going to lie, it was romantic.
And very, attractive.
My hand slowly made it's way up to his hair with was tied in a bun, careful not to alarm him. I discreetly pull the hair tie out of his hair, letting the curls bounce in my face.
"Huh!?" He says, bewildered by the sudden movement, "I thought you liked it?"
"I don't care what your hair looks like, but yes it is cute."
I hear the music conclude, instinctively I try to pull away, failing when Camilo holds on.
"Can we keep dancing?" The boy muttered lazily, sounding like he's about to drift off to sleep.
I softly nod in reply, continuing to sway from side to side with him.
About an hour passes by, I wasn't sure, time felt irrelevant at the moment. He whimpers softly into my shoulder, catching me off guard.
'Milo?'
And with one word, he bursts into a sobbing mess. Tears flowing out from his eyes. I immediately walk him over to a seat, I wasn't sure if it was exactly stable but it was my first option.
He weeps, clinging onto my dress as he tries to hold back the already streaming cries.
I don't bother asking him what's wrong, instead I patiently wait silently for him to tell me first.
"I-I just feel l-like..." His voice jumps randomly at the hiccups, "y-you, you're the only one w-who likes me as Camilo."
I get the urge to argue with the fact that his family loves him as Camilo, but I figured he'd prefer it if I didn't.
"I really do love you Cami," he knows I meant that as platonically, "this has been wonderful. Thank you so much."
