I hold my breath,
Drop the letter at his desk watch him pick it up,
Mouth the word as he reads
Following as his finger traces them
Dear Spok
I love you
Love from Jim
He looks up and I can read nothing in his eyes;
Picks up his pencil,
Shields his paper with his arm.
I pray admiral April isn't looking.
The folded note begins its journey

I wrench it open, desperate to know
'Dear Jim
You missed out the "c" in Spock.'
