"Of course, give her here." Miranda laughed out, standing and holding her hands out for the infant.

Once Mia handed Rose over to Miranda, the blonde felt a warmth spread throughout her body -- the type of warmth she had every time she's hold, kiss, or put Eva to bed all those years ago. A sadness filled the blonde's eyes as she gently rocked the infant, the moment reminding her of her life with Eva -- the life she yearned to have once more. Once Mia made her way back to Miranda, the sadness left her ice blue eyes and she handed the infant back to her mother.

The two moved to the couch as Mia fed Rose, the former co-workers continuing their conversation from before. As time passed Mia had managed to change Rose and start dinner with the help of Miranda -- both women being the happiest anyone had seen them in a long time. Miranda wasn't sure how the brunette had convinced her to stay for dinner, but she had and now that Rose was in bed yet again, the two could eat in peace.

"So, what is it that you do now?" Mia inquired once the two had food and were situated at the table.

"I'm priestess in a village -- I run the entire village with the help of four lords." Miranda responded hesitantly, unsure if she should tell the woman before deciding to tell her anyway.

"That's very impressive, Miranda. Maybe one day Rose and I can come and visit?"

"Maybe. As long as you aren't busy."

"I can always make time to come visit an old friend."

The two continued to converse and laugh throughout the meal, the two moving to the kitchen to wash the dishes together. Once they were done washing dishes, Miranda glanced at the time and a small frown made its way to her face. She let out a soft sigh before glancing at Mia again, the brunette having a sad smile on her face as she looked up at the blonde.

"I guess we should say good-bye for now." Mia muttered, brown eyes watching Miranda move out of the kitchen.

"We should," Miranda sighed, grabbing a pen and some paper before writing down a phone number and handing it to Mia. "Here's where you can reach me. I do hope to see you another time, Mia."

"I hope to see you again as well, Miranda."

Mia led Miranda to the front door, opening it for the blonde. The two shared a hug before Miranda left, Mia shutting the door behind her with a sad sigh. It had been so long since she had spent time with someone -- especially Miranda -- that she was already missing the other woman's company. Mia made her way upstairs after shutting everything off downstairs and locking the door, laying the piece of paper that had Miranda's number on it next to her bed.

Four Weeks Later

It had been weeks of Miranda sending letters to Mia and the two occasionally calling whenever Rose was asleep. Mia had just set Rose down for her nap when she decided to check the letter that had arrived from Miranda, a joyful smile on her face as she picked up the letter. Her heart skipped a beat when she opened the letter and saw Miranda's hand writing, a soft giggle leaving her when she noticed the feather and rock in the envelope.

The brunette moved over to her desk, setting the feather and rock down with the other feathers and rocks Miranda had sent her. She sat down and began reading the letter, a smile resting on her face the entire time. Mia wasn't sure when it happened, but she had started falling for the tall, blonde woman and it seemed said woman had feelings for her as well.

After a few minutes of contemplation, Mia picked up her phone and clicked on Miranda's name, her heart pounding in her chest as the phone began to ring. Milliseconds felt like hours and when the ringing stopped, her heart stopped momentarily.

"Ah, Mia, perfect timing." Miranda's voice came from the other line, sending butterflies swarming in the brunette's stomach. "I was just thinking about you. Did you get my letter?"

"I always do." Mia giggled out, her face turning a bright red. "You know, I think it's really sweet that you send me shiny rocks that remind you of me."

"I... I just send them to you because..."

"You always get so speechless when I bring that up. It's like you get so flustered that I pieced it together."

"...Okay, maybe they do remind me of you. I find them on my walks and I can't help but think of you. How about you come visit tomorrow?"

"Really?" Mia's tone grew cheerier and she sat up, toying with the newest rock Miranda had sent her. "I can do that. Maybe if I find a shiny rock, I'll give it to you this time."

Miranda's laugh on the other line caused Mia's heart to skip a beat, her other hand coming up to hide her face as Miranda finally spoke. "Then I'll watch Rose while you find one for me... I have to go, I'll call you back later. I hate cutting our conversations short but, I have to have a meeting with the lords."

"You can make it up to me tomorrow, Miranda. Just make sure your schedule is clear all day tomorrow."

"I'll make sure the lords know not to bother me tomorrow, Mia."

"Then I'll see you tomorrow, my crow." Mia hummed, giggling softly at the flustered noise that left Miranda. "Good-bye, Miranda."

"G-good-bye, M-Mia."

Once the phone call had ended, Mia buried her face in her hands and let a smile take over her face. She hadn't felt this lovesick in a long time; constant smiling while thinking of someone, butterflies whenever she talked to her or heard her laugh, the heart stopping worry while they were apart, and the way her heart would skip a beat whenever Miranda would call her a nickname. Mia composed herself before she began packing a bag for Rose for tomorrow, humming to herself as she did so.

"Miranda," Mia sighed dreamily to herself after she finished packing the bag, moving to her bed and flopping down onto it. "I can't wait to see you -- to talk to you in person -- again. Maybe I'll have the courage to confess."
