(A/N ~ Sorry, I was too lazy to write the flashback where Douxie met Merlin.)

DOUXIE CASPERAN

It wasn't too long ago that I took Merlin for granted. Now I looked at the remains of what was once a great kingdom, Camelot. Should I be grateful that I don't have to look at Merlin's dead body because it disintegrated? Or mad?

"It's all gone. Everything. The Heart of Avalon, Camelot..." I tapped a shard of the Heart with Merlin's staff, "Merlin."

I can't even cry anymore.

Claire sounded uncertain, "Maybe we should say a few words...?"

"Yeah, okay. Ahem. Battleship. November. Fruit punch." Steve sobbed, "Purple-!"

I'm pretty sure that Angelique elbowed him in the gut. Thanks love, I thought half-heartedly.

I turned around, facing the others, "Oh, what can I say about Merlin? He was... he was, uh... He was everything." I slumped down to the grass, patting Archie on the head, "He was all that we had."

Claire gently nudged Angelique, and she muttered something unintelligent. But Angelique sighed and flopped down beside me. Her eyes were stormier than usual.

"Do you want to break down Douxie?" she asked, not looking at me, "Do you want to just throw yourself on the nearest object and cry?"

I frowned, "Actually, ye-"

"Well guess what." She grabbed my hand, glaring at me intensely, "We'll get through this together. And when this is all over you can do just that. But in this current situation, we need you, Hazardhead. Yes, all of you, even the broken parts and the reckless parts. All of us,"-she gestured to herself and the others-"need all of you. The world needs it. But of course you can always be a coward-"

"Okay, okay." I laughed weakly, and squeezed her hand, "I get it. Thanks, Mooneyes."

Archie pushed up his glasses, "The Order's about to kick off an arcane apocalypse. And you two are flirting with each other."

My cheeks heated, way to ruin a moment, Archie. Angelique let go but looked unfazed.

"If you call talking some sense into reckless over here, flirting, well.." Angelique let the sentence die out and shrugged.

I swear now my cat looked embarrassed.

Claire gave me the leather-bound book with some newfound hope in her eyes, "Open it, Douxie."

"Merlin didn't tell me anything." I flipped open the dusty book, scanning over the foreign language, "And of course, he gave us a book that I can't even read. I mean, what is that supposed to be? Orcish? Elvish? Naga snake tribe?"

Angelique glanced over and sighed, "If I could hear it, maybe I could identify it but..."

Suddenly Archie gasped, "It looks like... Ancient Draconic."

Why did Archie sound so scared and timid? Isn't he part Dragon?

"Draconic?" Steve gasped too, "Dracula! Oh, no, Dracula!"

Claire frowned, "No... as in dragons."

I looked at Archie thoughtfully, "As in..."

Archie gulped, and finished my sentence, "Charlemagne, the Devourer."

"Charlemagne, the Devourer. Keeper of the most sacred stones and treasures. A vicious dragon." I mused.

Archie flew away and landed on top of a part of a tower, "Which is why we shouldn't trouble him. Maybe someone else can translate."
