ANGELIQUE LE

Claire gave me a small nod, barely perceivable. Part of me knew Claire would kick ass, the other was a sisterly instinct almost, to be worried of what might happen to her, no matter how small the situation.

To calm myself I studied her opponent, a tall and lean man with his face totally covered by his black helmet except for the eye holes. He had an air of confidence around him, likely to play all offense. And I was right, he charged towards Claire like a bull, his double edged axe raised.

Claire easily dodged his attack, while she searched for an opening, weaving in and out of his reach, he only blocked and attacked. Claire fought with more strategy, her greater advantages being small and fast. Her opponent fought with just strength.

As I had learned from Annabeth, even strength had to bow down to wit. She would easily win this one.

DOUXIE CASPERAN

Watching Angelique analyze the whole fight was fascinating, her dark brown irises darted around, likely seeing every single detail, not missing a beat. Claire on the other hand fought with some really good skill, though I didn't really approve of what she was doing I had to admit that she was going to win this match. But for what? I still did not know.

I descended down the seating area and stood next to Angelique.

"Any idea why she's doing this?" Angelique asked not taking her eyes off the duel.

"Not a single clue."

Finally, Claire pushed him onto the stone railing with the bottom of her spear, right by where we stood. He grabbed Steve's suspiciously neon green drink and threw it in Claire's face.

When she was distracted he kicked her to the turf, dust kicking up around her.

"Hey! No fair, ref! Time out! Time out!" Steve cried out.

"Hey!" Angelique shouted angrily.

Angelique looked about ready to jump in when Claire blasted him with a burst of shadow magic. Shadow magic!  I thought we were trying to be inconspicuous! King Arthur shot up from his seat, "Sorcery? That is forbidden!"

Claire marched over to the Knight of the Skulls, and removed his helmet with the flick of her spear, "Where is Morgana?"

"What is a Morgana?" he asked all the while looking at the tip of the spear fearfully.

"Your queen!" Claire said impatiently.

"Queen Sxphia_Cxsperan of the Dhar'k Isles?" he whimpered, "Don't hurt me!"

A mask of confusion clouded her face, "But-"

Two knights seized her and yanked her helmet off. The crowd gasped.

"The witch is disqualified!" Sir Galahad announced.

ANGELIQUE LE

"You both fight with no honor! Begone!" King Arthur thundered.

I gripped the stone railing, a feeling of uneasiness settled in my gut like a heavy weight.

Douxie looked at me with concern evident in his amber eyes, "You okay Mooneyes?"

I barely noticed the use of my nickname, I was restless, something was wrong I could feel it. My hand grabbed the handle of my right blade resting on my hip, I didn't unattach it yet though. I had a feeling I needed it soon though. Very soon.

"Love?" Douxie leaned over so that I could not simply avoid looking at his face unless I turned away.

I couldn't help but feel a little flustered even though I knew 'love' was kind of like a nickname. But my attention snapped to the king's seating box.
