The Book of Secrets

Chapter 5

“What do you say Kel?” Jenny asked holding out her hand, Kelly hesitated and looked at Jenny with a worried expression, something about this house gave her goose bumps, like it held something that she didn't want to find, but at the same time she felt drawn to the dark entrance, so taking Jenny's hand she followed Zack and Adam through the doorway and down some steps that led into the darkness.

Using their phones as lights they soon found that they were walking down another corridor,

“how far does this thing go?” asked Max,

“I don't know but look at the walls” Adam exclaimed from behind everyone else, he had his phone in one hand shining at the wall of the corridor and with his other hand he lightly tapped it, TING TING, “it's metal probably steal like the door” he explained,

“So” Max said,

“Well, its just that the book makes it sound like the warriors were around a really long time ago, if this is their house I just don't understand how there is so much high tech stuff here, like the big steel door and there was a computer system in one of the rooms, now there is a corridor with steel walls” Adam explained.

“There was also a TV in the living room” Rachel added,

“Well maybe the house had been renovated or something” Jenny suggested.

“Yeh maybe, but-” Adam started,

“Hey guys, look” Zack interrupted from further down the corridor everyone walked towards him, as they got closer they saw a metal door that had writing on,

“It's the language in the book,” Kelly explained,

“what does it say?” Jenny asked,

“Control room” she translated,

“Well let's go” Zack cheered as he grabbed the handle and opened the door,

“ZACK” Kelly shouted,

“What?” he innocently said,

“Does the words 'private property' mean anything to you?” she asked but Zack just shrugged and entered the room followed by Rachel and Adam,

“Well he did wait till you explained what was written on the door” Jenny laughed also entering the room with Kelly,

“That's probably just to cheek it didn't say 'three headed monster inside'” Max grumbled as he followed them.

Once in the room everyone started once again using their phones as a source of light. Kelly saw Adam messing with some sort of desk with buttons and sliding switches on it, she slowly walked over to him to get a better look at the desk.

“What's this?” she asked as she watched Adam press different buttons,

“I'm guessing it's the control desk, it's really high tech like everything else in this place.” he explained as he turned a dial and flicked a switch. Suddenly there was a purring sound and the lights began to flick until they finally turned on, causing everyone to squint from the sudden brightness.

“Well done Adam, you found the lights” Zack shouted from the other side of the room putting his phone back into his pocket,

“Wow... what is this place?” Jenny asked as she looked around. The room they were standing in was only small, but the walls were all made of the same metal as the corridor, there was a metal bench that protruded form one wall and there was a big glass screen above the control desk that Adam was still messing with. Everyone walked over to him intrigued as to what he was doing. The desk was very confusing to everyone but Adam seemed to know what he was doing as he flicked switches and turned dials.

“What's in there?” Zack asked peering out of the glass window above the desk,

“Hold on I'm trying to turn the lights on in there” Adam said as he pressed a button and flicked another switch. The lights on the other side of the glass screen turned on and part of wall slid open making a door into another room. “Training Room Door Open” a mono toned voice said.

“It talks?” Jenny asked,

“How is everything so high tech?” Adam wondered aloud,

“This place is amazing, with machines that talk and secret doors popping up everywhere” Zack laughed excitedly,

“He's like a child” Max mumbled as Zack quickly ran past him to explore the new room with Rachel.

“The voice just called the room a 'Training room'” Kelly stated,

“Training room? Like a gym or something?” Jenny asked confused,

“Who knows this place is weird” Max grumbled watching Zack and Rachel look around the room behind the glass, it was made out of metal also.

“This room is massive, probably as big as the entire house” Rachel exclaimed amazed,

“Yes, but there is nothing in here” Zack wined and walked back into the control room disappointed.

“Kelly, what does this say?” Adam asked pointing on to one of the twenty or so buttons that had the language from the book written on them.

“It says 'Defence'”

“What does that mean?” Jenny asked nervously,

“There is only one way to find out” Zack said reaching over and pressing the butting before anyone could stop him.

“Defence training activated” said the voice as the door to the training room closed.

“Erm guys, where did the door go?” Rachel called from the now locked training room.

“Did that say defence training?” Jenny asked Max worriedly,

“Zack your so stupid” he yelled running to the glass window with Jenny,

“I...I...I didn't mean to...I'm” Zack stuttered,

“OK, I would really like to get out now” Rachel exclaimed as a number of small holes appeared in the wall with cannons sticking out of them.

“Advance Training” the voice said,

“Adam, you need to open that door” Kelly said as Rachel backed up against the locked door,

“I know I’m trying” he shouted frantic flicking switches,

“Now would be good” Max exclaimed as the cannons started to glow preparing to fire,

“almost...” he said,

“Adam!” Jenny shouted in fear,

Yes that is right i am evil and have left you with a cliffhanger!!! Mwhahaha

So Zack has gotten them into a little bit of trouble.
